I like CMC, I just don't like paying RB's top tier contracts.
As long as we're not having to give up other great players, what does it matter

he's about to get restructured or should as he doesn't have any guaranteed money left

True

We need to lower his cap number

I assume he'll restructure but that just means we're kicking more salary down the road.
cap increases down the road also

But his cap number will go up. His percentage of salary vs cap will go down though so that's good. Even if they don't restructure this season it's not hurting the team and he's earned that money.

I disagree

I don't think there's anyone they'd sign with that money. His salary isn't stopping a Bosa or Aiyuk extension.

Could be true, but I think we need to get his cap number down at the very least.

When you look at our roster, we should have a top offense but for some reason we always have a top defense. We have stars; Deebo/Aiyuk/Kittle/CMC/Mitchel/Juice/Trent.
Plus we have a offensive minded coach. so whats the problem?

QB. Though I think with Purdy we would have a top offense. We'll see what Trey can do.
Just saw on Lynch interview on 49ers website, Oliver is #22. Looks like CMC is sticking to #23.

With an entire offseason for Kyle to think up new ways to use CMC, I think the one area we may see more of is CMC as a slot WR. CMC had to cram the playbook once he became a 49er, and Kyle most likely didn't have the time to implement truly creative ways to use a second swiss army knife (Deebo). With an offseason to self scout how defenses defended the CMC/Deebo backfield, I think the league is about to see some very unorthodox formations and personnel groupings. Things that it not easy to practice against when gameplanning for the 49ers.

I wonder if Kyle will just dust off that Jerick McKinnon playbook. He probably spent all off season building an offense around him and bam, he's done.

The rest of what you said is so exciting. CMC said he basically started from scratch this off season, learning everything vs. just the weekly installs. That is going to open up even more for him and Kyle.
Stil hard to believe he's on our team. The 2nd half of last season went by in a blur. Stay healthy CMC! I'd pull all the hairs out of my sack with tweezers if that would guarantee your health!
I just hope Kyle doesn't run him into the ground. Use Mason and Mitchell for the 4 games he'll play until he's hurt

Good point about dusting off the plays for McKinnon. Perhaps that was done a little bit last season after CMC was acquired. We know Kyle was pumped for Jet after his signing. I thought McKinnon was utilized well with KC last season on misdirection screen passes and I can see that with CMC next season. One example was that double pump fake, throw to Kittle versus SEA that went for a touchdown where CMC got so much attention. Split up Deebo and CMC to opposite sides of the formation and choose accordingly.
