CMC, Elite RB who will start!

As a pass catcher..3 or 4. That's his bread and butter. Dude could be a slot WR.

This is why I think CMC could have a long career, so long as we lean on Mitchell and Mason to run more.

dude was the rocker star of our offense last yr and it was mainly because of the pass catching chops/miss matches he brought to the table there.

I'm praying Kyle doesn't run him into the ground. Thoughts on a good number or touches per game for him?

honestly 15-18 ideally but up to ~22 depending on gamescript would be perfect especially if we see growth from the young RBs
#2 RB on ESPN+'s list behind only Chubb.

It would be ideal if Mitchell could develop into the pass catcher as CMC so we don't lose much when we rest CMC. And if he ever gets healthy, that's something they should work hard on this pre season. Even as a primary.

Mitchell will never be the pass catcher Mac is. But he's a solid option to go to.
I think this tweet shows a great glimpse of the impact CMC had last season.

This is also why I really want to see Trey run an offense with CMC and Kyle having CMC out there.

For everyone dismissing the schematic advantage it's pretty clear and was very obvious on tape. The guy is a coverage magnet. Every QB who plays with him, especially when combined with the playmakers we have around him benefits greatly from his presence and clearly it allows Kyle to be in his bag.

An outlet like him, with his feel and spacing AND ability to be used as a primary receiver, is just so special and something neither Kyle nor any 49er QB has ever had here.

I can't wait to see what Kyle will come up with with CMC after a full off season (hint: dust off that old Jerick McKinnon playbook).

He's a pretty underrated receiver. And now he'll be able to learn from the master. I'd never expect him to be CMC in that fashion but if he can close the gap and keep that part of the Kyle's playbook open, that would be huge.

Chubb is the best RB with Henry, facing stacked boxes with little to no passing game(s). However, McCaffery is the most valuable rb in the league

Definitely the most versatile, but I wouldn't rank him as the best RB and wouldn't want to. In Shanny's system, would you rather have Emmitt Smith or Marshal Faulk? I'd take the latter 10 outa 10 times.

Those are two tremendous backs. Emmitt could do it all, that includes, catching out of the backfield and pass protection. Faulk was a near perfect back in his own right tho. Let's add LaDainian to the convo, seeing prime LDT with Shanny would be something.

On CMC, the hope here is he stays healthy, so usage is an issue. Load management.

Good thing we have Elijah Mitchell to be healthy for three or four games out of the whole year to help with his load management

My ones that I always think would have been unreal in our current run game when I see their highlights are Jamaal Charles or CJ2K. I don't know how they were as receivers though.

It's funny because it's true.
Would love to have Kareem Hunt backing up CMC instead of everyone else we currently have. Get him on a 1 year deal.
