CMC is such a great fit in this O on so many levels. That long run starting the 2nd Half just took any remaining life out of the Steelers. He's such a good receiver, too...gives Purdy another target or outlet when needed.

CMC Definitely unlock's Kyle's offense. They way Marshal Faulk unlocked Kurt's offense. Believe it or not, Kyle's offense is very run-centric, but you wouldn't know it with all the Purdy passing success, but this offense is built off the back of that run game. Kyle's had 3rd round or later talent at running back, and now we can see how his offense operates with a much better back, a first round, first pick kind of talent level running back. It's unstoppable. Specially with a good QB like Purdy on the passing game.

Bingo!

22 rushing attempts (374 for a season). How many games could he play at that rate? And can we win the Super Bowl without him?? Maybe give him a rest ESPECIALLY after the game is well in hand. Just a thought.
Why isn't Eli getting some of these carries? I'd like to see atleast 5 less touches for CMC. We gotta get him healthy and keep the big picture in mind.

He is healthy, but I agree with you on Elijah, not sure why he didn't play at all, Mason was at least in on special teams.

Kyle felt he needed the best back out there. CMC only had 23 touches total.

Yeah... it makes no sense.

Yeah, not a big deal, only 23 touches, seems up to the task.

idk why he didn't play, did anyone ask Kyle?
We need to get Mason and Mitchell involved, especially on a short week. Running CMC at this rate is not sustainable IMO.

We should start a poll of which game Kyle burns him out.

We're lucky to have this guy on our team. Agree with everybody that we've got to preserve CMC for the long haul, by limiting his touches as much as possible.

Looking at last year, he only rushed more than 20 times in a game once, in the Seahawks game at the end of the year. So far it's been 25 and 23 touches. It's not an alarming increase, but I think we all agree it's not in the best interest to have an end of the year Deebo 2021 season with a beginning of the year McCaffrey. He's an amazing player, but we have a lot of amazing players on offense, so there's no need to run him into the ground. Sounds like Kyle feels the same way, so we'll see.

Two backs that CMC is frequently compared to are Roger Craig and Marshall Faulk. If you look at their Per Game Attempts over the first 8 years of their careers (14 & 18 respectively), you might think we are putting too much on CMC. I suspect Kyle will ease up a bit real soon and save the heavy loads for bigger games.
