I heard Kyle is only giving him 99 touches. 🥱

32 needs some playing time... he big and he style may be needed against those East defenders !!

No, he can't block at all.

Seriously what do people have against Purdy? I really like him at QB, and want him to stay.

I bet if somebody broke in his front door, he would shoot at his back door.

IDC what anyone says, CMC should not play this week. We need him for the playoffs and Minnesota's turf has a high injury risk.

let's see how he looks pregame, it's about health to play, and risk of reinjury
what if there is no risk of reinjury, based on the current injury?
if he's healthy to play, he should play

Shanahan was asked Thursday if McCaffrey's current workload is sustainable.

"I mean, we treat him as our starting running back," the coach responded. "So, I don't really think of how many touches we want to get somebody in a year, that's week-to-week and how the game goes. But he gets a lot more extra because he gets thrown to so much in the passing game. I'm happy with how he's being used. I'm happy with how he's been playing, and we'll see how the rest of the year goes."

Fine, but no excuses from Kyle if or when the offense becomes putrid again if CMC isn't on the field. Take the blame Kyle for not having a backup plan.

These games don't even matter. Cmc might be needed to tote the rock 30 times in a playoff game.

If he's out for the playoffs then it was completely foreseeable mismanagement.

Cmc is already known to be fragile.

Talk like shanahan did in that article is similar to the same fatale flaw harbaugh had. Unwilling to take sound advice from others.

Cmc needs to be protected from himself and apparently from shanahan. This is going to rely on some yes man rb coach stepping up and managing him better. Doubtful it will happen.

YES, if he's healthy he should play.. but we all know that he's not close to 90%, and he's too important to be available all year..

we have 24 and 32... WHY don't we FIND OUT how GOOD we can be IF 23 is really OUT FOR THE YEAR..

Might as well just give him the ball every play since he's the best player on the team right?

If we cannot rest him and win games without him in the regular season against scrub teams... How do we expect to win games without him in the playoffs against actual good teams.

every team plays their best guys since the dawn of time

how do you expect to win games without playing them. This fear needs to stop

Haha it's not a fear it's an inevitably. He plays rb and is historically made of glass. He can't handle 30 touches a game. If they limited him to 10-15 carries and 0-5 passes it would be reasonable. Instead they'd rather give him 30 a game.

He's also hurt. Enough that he could not finish the last game. He does not need to be rushed back. Rush him back and watch him get hurt worse.

He doesn't need to sit if he's healthy. The problem is he has already stated he doesn't want to come out of the game even if hurt. Which means he has to be handled. And shanahan doesn't mind grinding him into the ground either which is also a problem.

It's the same reasoning why you don't run your QB up the middle. He might be the best athlete on the team but it's just dumb usage to put them in harms way more than necessary(cough lance cough).

Mcaffrey will lie and say he's fine when he's hurt. We saw that last game when he had the two carries after getting rocked and his legs looked shaken. Once again meaning he needs to be managed.

ABSOLUTELY NO TO 32. he WILL end the 49ers season.

Just a snippet, 1 game, and not a standout worst game. A snapshot of every game.

fear, worried.. it all falls under afraid. Plus he doesn't handle 30 touches a game. He can still get hurt with only 5 touches a game. Football is just a brutal sport.

If CMC was glass, he wouldn't have lasted this long (including last years games). I do agree if he's hurt, don't let him play. but we can't sit a healthy CMC

As for Lance, Lance should have let the RB take those options. He needs to learn that he doesn't need to be the hero and keep the ball. But the way preseason took off, maybe he ran the ball last year to compensate his QB play ?

I'm fearful of what can happen, but you can't play scared in the game of football

We also need him to help us get that #1 spot.

If healthy, he should play Imo.
Kyle double downing. CMC will die on the field a 49er.
