entire regular season he can rest

Hot take.. I've felt this way for sometime now. CMC is a luxury. He's not needed to win a sb. But! Having him is a plus and he's a great player. However in this day and age, I'm not shelling out top dollar for a rb. Just my opinion. We could take his cap hit and invest it else where.
Really should be more of a timeshare moving forward. 70/30 split imo. Save CMC from himself. Not to mention the way Mason runs, that's gotta wear down the opposition in the second half.

Mason played Great , but eventually we're going to need the rb to make plays in the passing game to win and that's why you need a player like CMC

I'm really worried that this will continue to linger
and even if he does return, his Achilles could be a ticking time bomb

Reading a lot about it and it seems serious. Like the next step is a rupture. Also, it takes forever to heal, if ever. And it comes back with too much activity.

I said in the gameday thread, just rest him half the year if they have to. Mason and Gurrendo can produce.

I'm wondering if preventative surgery vs reconstructive surgery might be a solution. I.e. instead of repairing a torn achilles - can you reinforce it to prevent it from rupturing in the first place?

No clue about any procedures. There's no way NOT to use your achilles so its really just proper exercise without going crazy and rest.

imo, it's hard NOT to worry about this.
Mitchell - 2021 - 963 yards - 6th rounder
Wilson - 2020 - 600 - UDFA
Mostert - 2019 - 772 - UDFA
Cheetah - 814 - UDFA
Shanny can plug just about anyone into his system and make them successful. It's kinda like punching up up down down left right left right B A start and getting 30 lives in Contra. Well, in a Shanny offense, that gets you CMC lol He's a damn cheat code on this team.
Not al all concerned about whoevers lined up at RB this year. Save CMC, get him 100% and then some.

Deebo does a good CMC impression also. So while I'm worried about CMC, there is depth behind him to possibly IR CMC so that he'll be available for the latter half of the season and the playoffs.
