If it's this difficult of a decision, just do it. I really don't understand the rush to have him back. Especially if Mason can carry the load.

Huh? Why? And yes the Vikings games counts

Just helps to level the playing field. No other team in this league has a CMC either so no one will be crying for us. We were 10 points up in the Super Bowl vs KC with under 9 minutes left without him so we have zero excuses now as we clearly have a much better QB under center

If he aint 100 percent he needs to sit and we can still win a lot of games without just as we did before him but we need him more over the last half of the season to make our playoff push. This aint my decision to make. This is his health dictating the terms and we have to learn to deal with it

What a mess. It sounds like he is going to miss a lot of the season now. This was very unexpected. But it's part of what happened in Carolina. He was injured a lot and it's why they gave up on him.

Well he was the OPOY here last year so I would say they made a mistake

I never would have ever imagined that possibly putting CMC in IR would be good news but that's where I am right now. I had this fear he would come back before being 100% and would tear his achilles and be done for the season. Putting him on IR would allow him to get fully healthy. We don't need him in the 1st half of the season, We need him in the 2nd half and playoffs.
Why exactly do fans believe this? We can easily lose plenty of those "1st half of the season" games which could be the deciding factor whether this team has to travel in the playoffs or not, assuming we make it of course.
If we lose games simply because we dont have CMC then we suck ass.

He was pretty much healthy last year. My understanding is that the injury he has is somehow related to what happened last year in the regular season and he played through the injury in the playoffs. As others have said, CMC was overused last year and ShanaLynch is paying for it this year.

KC had Jerrick Mckinnon achilles issues too in their successful superbowl run, so I choose to view the CMC issue as a positive omen.

I
I'm not sure if I said that, but any answer would've been right or wrong at the time. Fact is no one knew meaning fans or media.
