CMC, Elite RB who will start!

Just a thought, but I have been reading about tendinitis and it is micro tears in the tendon which could lead to the worst case scenario……a torn Achilles. So even though he's going on IR and comes back after there's a chance it could rupture which would really suck. If I were him I would see if there's a micro surgery that could strengthen it and would only take 4-6 weeks to heal. I would rather see him lose 6-8 weeks and be in greater shape then have him come back for a short time and end up losing him for a year or more. JMHO Madden curse strikes again!!!!! Anyway I hope the best for him and Go Niners

It can mean a lot of things but often the issue is less about structural integrity and more about inflammation. If CMC was borderline to play these last few weeks, I'm guessing the problem is more about inflammation. The Achilles is in a sheath and if the Achilles isn't perfectly smooth, it can rub the sheath the wrong way. Once that happens, the sheath swells. If both the Achilles and sheath are inflamed, it is really difficult to deal with if you are continually agitating it… even mildly by walking sometimes. They probably want to relieve inflammation, encourage optimal scar tissue formation in any possible tears (Achilles tendons in particular are sensitive to the orientation of the scar tissue) then set him free.
CMC has dealt with Injuries In the past too, so this news doesn't come as a great suprise.

I think all the usage from last season finally took It's toll, but on a positive note, at least we'll get to see more of Mason and hopefully a little of Isaac too.

CMC should be back In time for our super bowl run.
Go steal Gore Jr from the Bills PS put him on the 53. (hey I can dream, right?)
Run a 3-headed monster combo of Mason Guerendo and Gore.
Lets see what these kids can do.
Hell, Shanahan can take UDFAs and late round RBs and make them stars...he does better with them than he does 3rds (Sermon...TDP)
Not worried. Rest up CMC. Come back strong.
If 5 months rest in off season did not stop CMC pains whats 4 weeks going to do? I suspect he needs an operation but that would be a season ender. Perhaps the plan is to nurse him back mid December for a playoff run in the hope his injury does not flare up. Tough situation

Okay, sounds good
This sucks but probably the right decision. He needs to be 100% healthy before we put him back out there. Its not worth the risk of losing him for good.

This is my concern as well. I dont think a month will do anything and Niners still will be playing Russian roulette with him. I guess you could bubble wrap him until the playoffs...but thing is they might need him to be the #1 seed...this is a tough situation all around and considering the contract extension, pretty awkward one at that.
Our eyes were fooled by the distraction of BA and TW. CMC was the real issue this whole time.

This is gona become a real problem once opponents have more tape on Mason. Shanny is already inclined to using his wide back instead of his rookie or vet.

Heal up quick CMC!

More tape on Mason....

ok
At this point… it's not October or November I'm worried about. It's January and February.

We can win regular season games without him. We can make the playoffs without him. We might lose one or two extra games without him, but in the end we will be okay.

But in the playoffs? And in the final four where this franchise consistently falls apart? Yeah we need him for those.
