We really needed to win the SB this year. We were completely stacked. There was no excuse. Now, we lose CMC:(. That is going to affect chances of making the playoffs fs. . Hope he responds well to the treatment but I am not hopeful, long term at the moment unless we get more info on positive progress . Bummer really.

lol we were never winning the SB this year. SB hangover, holdouts by key players, and injuries.

I'm as heart-broken as you about the last Super Bowl, but Maiocco didn't really say anything new. The story has been CMC has tendinitis but he wants to play through it.

Yeah my expectations this year are pretty low. Hopefully we at least get back to the playoffs, but nothing currently shows us being a real contender for the Super Bowl. I view this year as another learning experience for Purdy as he gets relied upon more to win games because of no CMC, defense not much of a threat or strength this year, and Special Teams doing their best to make us lose games.

Everyone knew (except for the Shanafans) that Kyle was running him into the ground. Not just him. Everyone has gripe with Kyle on how he plays Deebo. Look at how he was playing Lance.

you give Kyle a shiny new toy, he plays with it like a 2 year old toddler. And most objective fans (outside the Kyle fan club) knew that Mason was a good player that should be getting more than just mop up duty.

sorry you can't spin yourself out of this. Kyle overplayed his star running back.

No way you're a Doctor lol

Definitely overused CMC last season. Particularly in the super bowl. 30 touches for CMC. More than the entire rest of the team combined. Complete misuse of all the other weapons available

It's the way Kyle uses his players. Look at Deebo yesterday. Coming off calf injury, has him already lined up in the backfield.

Most fans knew we had a good one in Mason. Could have easily incorporated him heavy into the backfield and split time with cmc. But coach dips**t couldn't help himself

How dare he makes football players play football

No other coach makes his players play football

It wasnt just Mason. When healthy Mitchell was solid too. Both were deserving of at least a few carries each game. Niners would have leads in games and CMC was still getting almost alllll the carries

How can you have Achilles Tendonitis in both legs? Unbelievable. Shanahan pounded him into the ground. Could be gone for the whole season.

Not super optimistic about him, but am I missing something? All current reports are he is ramping up Jo's week or next and will be back first week or so of nov. now whether that actually happens is another thing. But haven't heard anything about the 2 Achilles thing and the bi-lateral stuff was already brought up last week

I haven't heard that either. I heard he's looking forward to beginning practice again. It may be something he will have the rstof his career and will need to deal with. It doesn't mean he's going to tear it. If he does then that's a different story. Even then it can be repaired. Klay Thomson and Durant both went through it and still play at a fairly high level.

Trying to replace CMC will be really hard. There are very few RBs that have his complete skill set. They could consider switching him to slot receiver to lighten his load a little.

My understanding is tendonits etc... that stuff is wear and tear, overuse etc. The only thing you can do is rest is as much as possible and let it heal. Next offseason he needs to play some video games for about 2-3 months straight, then get back in shape

I have tendonitis in both knees but of course I don't play football. People respond differently to various therapies. Cortisone shots (prednisone} in my back actually helped my tendonitis in the knees for a little while. You never know until you try it. There are so my different treatments available now that there's always hope.

He is def trying it all. I hope he is ok.

How you take care of your body is more important than if you get a couple extra carries a game.

Gore avg like 250 attempts per yr for like 13 yrs with two ACLs under his belt. He knew how to take care of his body and play the position properly.

CMC is his own worst enemy. Workout warrior who's been beating his body for yrs. Derrick Henry spends over $200K a yr on maintenance and recovery lol. Blaming it on a coach is so childish.

He never wanted to come out of a game, per Shanahan.

let's not play the blame game, CMC isn't at fault

You're fixing to get a lecture.
Man Shanahan completely blew this guy up. Both legs. Unheard of. He may miss the whole season. If he comes back at all we have to manage his production. Luckily Mason is great. But we are really thin there now.

While I can see that this is true, you want to still manage your player in order to not hurt themselves if they don't have an off button. The fact that CMC wants to play through these injuries, the guy has no off button. But his coach can demand that he has one.

We should have managed him in the first place and we wouldn't be here. We should have used Mason and Mitchell more. Not blaming anyone but we should have had them go in more.
