CMC, Elite RB on the mend

Won't matter. Kyle is the reason for all negative 49er things.
From CMC's own Dad. Exactly what I said a few pages ago. CMC clearly didn't rest up in the offseason.

"Tendinitis is an over-training injury, meaning you're training too hard or doing too much, and it turns into tendinitis," Ed explained. "And if I would say Christian has a weakness, it's that he sometimes has to protect himself from himself in terms of training too much and doing too much.

"We've already had that discussion. Next offseason, we need to re-evaluate what you're doing."

some of us lived this life albeit at a peon football level. But I've still got tendinitis in my elbow from football almost 15 years later simply because I've never taken time off from the weight room.

This sums up CMC

I recall Shanahan answering in response to a question about overusing CMC, "He never wants to come out of the game. He has even gone back in a few times when he wasn't supposed to." (words to that effect)

Thank you! Basically what I've been saying as well.

dude needs to go talk to Henry about investing in his maintenance and recovery.

You don't get tendinitis from getting a couple extra carries a game

First off, this whole he will never play in SF again is just silly. His legs aren't chopped off. I highly doubt this was something that just popped up this off season. He's gotta change some things, recover properly and take care of himself better.

Secondly, why can't we win a SB without him? Mason is on pace to rush for like 1,800 yards. Our running game isn't a problem. Sure CMC is a stud and brings more in the passing game as well…but let's stop acting like we don't have legit studs all over the place on offense. Brock is continuing to get better and better as well.

IMO it's the defense that needs to get their s**t together.

Wanna bet?

You think CMC will never play for the 49ers again lol? Do you understand how tendinitis works and it's more pain management/maintenance and recovery than him simply not being able to play football ever again at 28

Hes rooting for anything bad that he can. No one wants this team to lose more.

Seems like a massive waste of time for him to go that route in a fan forum. Weird

the whole overused thing is such a BS excuse for the Kyle haters club to use.

dude had two games with over 20 carries last season.

this was always about CMC and his own regimen and self health. Not about getting a couple extra carries a game. His father even backed that up.

If he wasn't supposed to, why did he allow it? Not blaming Shanny but why not just insist that he stays out?

Both statements are corrrect.

-Shanahan overused CMC last season
-CMC overused his body this off-season.

Both things happened and now his career is in jeopardy but you guys feel the need to fight for everything.

This. Common sense don't make sense around here though

common sense is we dont know what caused it

It's overuse. Period. And the amount he was used last season and then the way that he is with his offseason training is what caused it. I don't need a rocket scientist to explain that to me lol. If you do then I can't blame you

That's almost like telling somebody they're a workaholic and they need to do less or be worse at the job they're doing. I guess Christian is basically his own worst enemy but how do you tell somebody they're working too hard to be the best they possibly can be at their job.
"His father believes that the extra playing time, paired with his intense offseason workouts, may have contributed to the injury." Just a bummer, again, we could have managed it better I think.
Players spend for more time working out, training and in practice than they do playing in the actual games. When it comes to wear and fatigue injuries pointing to the games seems like missing the forest for the trees. You have Ed McCaffrey flat out saying it, yet those that want to crucify Kyle still can't accept it.

Yes but to an extent, there were times when he absolutely shouldn't have been getting the carries, you know it. That's what backup RBs are for, end of game and just running out the clock. His father backed up his off-season; and Shanny backed up the fact that there were times CMC shouldn't have been in the game but didn't want to come out. Why, as the HC, he allowed it to happen anyways is beyond me, but it's pretty well documented that CMC is one of those players that literally hurts themselves with his ethics and never wanting to come out.

As someone said earlier, both things can and VERY LIKELY is true. His season AND offseason contributed to this. Why this is a debate is stupid anyways when the end result is the same lol

I remember Jerry Rice at one time got his body fat % so low to be dangerous. They had to force the man to start eating ice cream and other fattening foods to get his % up quickly.

Eschewing dietary fat, he got down to 189 a year or so ago, but the weight loss was too much. His starved body was literally eating up his muscles. His trainer ordered him to start eating things like ice cream.

''Under four percent body fat and I don't feel good,'' Rice says.

''I'm a health-food fanatic, but getting that low hurt my performance. I'm at 4.8 percent now, and I feel good.''
