while the recent videos of him looking fast and twitchy in practice is nice, it all depends on how much load his achilles can take, especially considering hes the type of back that likes to carry defenders for extra yardage...that's massive pressure on your ankles, and that's something they can't really replicate in practice
I predict we'll all find out a lot after his first carry in which he has to earn yardage, it'll either be one and one, or all systems go.

CMC + Mason…add in some Guerendo and let's start pounding teams (looking at you, Brendel, to do your part up front).
A healthy CMC and Mason are definitely a good thunder and lightning combo. When CMC first joined the Niners, there were games where he did some good damage in the first half and then in the second half, Elijah Mitchell would come in some and help do more damage being fresh. Mason brings more from a change of pace, thunder standpoint.
Looking forward to seeing CMC work his way back into the offense.

I love both these backs but I wouldn't call them thunder and lightening. Neither has blazing speed and neither is able to run over tacklers. That doesn't mean they aren't really good. I just don't think that monicker fits.

Mason definitely has some thunder in his running ability when he is healthy. We've seen him run over some guys, punish tacklers and get those extra yards at the end of runs with his size and decent speed (for his size). He's got thunder but also with moves, reminding me a lot of Marion Barber. Mason is no Okoye but he definitely packs a punch when healthy.
CMC strikes like lightning.

I guess you could stretch it a bit and call them that.

Well, I guess the real point is they both have different yet effective running/playmaking abilities that could prove to wear down defenses during the course of games. That's how I'm hoping they're both used as the Niners work CMC back in.

"I do feel good one way or another. He's had two good days… he's been awesome these last two days. So hopefully, that continues to go well and I expect to get him out…
