They should go easy on him. Or else he will be injured again. The passing game is where he is the most useful. He's another WR out there for speed, routes and hands. You can't say the same with the other RB's. But I'd like to see his carries limited.

I'm certain Shanahan will.

He will probably get 40% of the snaps. I can't see any way where he gets a full snap count the first game back. Especially with IG and JP Mason playing well.

Cant wait. If he's healthy we are going to see a huge difference.

Just save him for the redzone. Let Mason and Guerendo handle the rest of the work.

CMC + Mason…add in some Guerendo and let's start pounding teams (looking at you, Brendel, to do your part up front).
A healthy CMC and Mason are definitely a good thunder and lightning combo. When CMC first joined the Niners, there were games where he did some good damage in the first half and then in the second half, Elijah Mitchell would come in some and help do more damage being fresh. Mason brings more from a change of pace, thunder standpoint.
Looking forward to seeing CMC work his way back into the offense.
I love both these backs but I wouldn't call them thunder and lightening. Neither has blazing speed and neither is able to run over tacklers. That doesn't mean they aren't really good. I just don't think that monicker fits.
CMC is pretty fast his 40 was a 4.48 which is like faster than 80 percent of the backs in the league. Were his fast is his quickness and change of direction proof by his 3 cone 6.55 which is like better than 99 percent of the backs in the league Mason seems to break a lot of tackles so I would think he fits the thunder.

It's easier said than done when you are trying to win a football game. At what point during a game do you say it' not important if we don't score a TD here? And especially when you are in must win games.

The reason we are in must win games is because of those inexcusable losses to AZ and the Rams. Win those? We are in good shape. No need to rely on CMC much this week.

That being said, last year we were blowing teams out and CMC was still in the game deep into the 4th quarter. That shouldn't happen. Those are reps that should be going to Mason and IG, in particular Mason due to his running style when he is healthy.
