Well Mason don't look to good either, the first run he gets prefect blocking on the play which CMC didn't have and what does he do but cut back inside were the defense was instead of staying outside were he has only one corner to make miss.. That's why Kyle know Mason is not elite . Mason didn't go a game with out Purdy, Williams or Kittle and we still lost 4 games.

Man, what? Mason looked better on his first run today than CMC has looked at any point so far this season.
What Mason was worst than CMC 2.7 avg and his first runs shows he's not an elite back or he would took it for bigger yards. He didn't get touch till he was tackled CMC had no open holes like that for his runs.

So you want to forget his other carries that went for nothing , there is a reason Mason didn't get invited to the combine or drafted all 32 teams don't think he's an elite back . He lacks a second gear and brings nothing in the passing game now if he wants to move to fb he could become a top starter.

He didn't get invited to the combine because he averaged about 7 carries a game as a backup to a guy who was a Pro Bowl running back as a rookie in Detroit last year. He's averaged over 5 yards per carry on over 200 carries in the NFL. Those are fairly elite numbers. But even if he's not "elite" no one is saying he has to be. Few guys are. He can be less than elite and still get more than 2 carries a game, on average, when McCaffrey is also not elite this season.

First he was the fb in college not the same position that Gibbs played there and his college stats have nothing to do with him not be invited or drafted it's he's not elite.CMC was elite the last 2 years and for this team to go far that is what we will need and that is why Kyle
will still go with CMC .You see what we were with Mason the first part of the year a 500 team and that's the best you will ever be with him. So before you say CMC is not playing great this year yes everybody including CMC knows that but he still gives us the best chance to go far if he can make it back to the last 2 years form.

He was a 215 poundish fullback? That's news to me and probably Georgia Tech.

Kyle has said more than once that Mason was the BACKUP to Gibbs at Tech and that's why he went undrafted and was under the radar. Somehow I am going to think he's a little more up on the facts than you.

I was unaware that teams are at, below, or above.500 based solely on who their running back is. As it is, we're a below .500 team with McCaffrey this year so by that logic we may as well start Mason.

If course McCaffrey has been elite. Guys aren't "elite" for the entirety of their careers at that position especially. Guys like Ezekiel Elliott and Dalvin Cook were elite and obviously no longer are. That doesn't mean CMC is washed and of course he will still start. But you don't have to run a rusty not in game shape and coming off an injury back 15-20 times, or more, if it is not effective. Not when you have other talented options. But many coaches in all sports are stubborn that way. Not just Kyle.

He was the backup his Junior and Senior years to a Freshman Sophomore and you said your self , I think Kyle is a little more knowledgeable than you that's why he didn't draft Mason or will give the ball to CMC even if he's not close to his level of play like he was the last 2 year but Kyle will still give him the ball over Mason. The team with Mason was 500 because he doesn't demand a lot of attention like CMC does when he's on the field and our Offense needs that. Let's see if Mason would have made a difference if he played without Purdy, Kittle , BA and Williams we wouldn't have made it to 500 with him. Not to forget Bosa sitting out has affected the last 2 games.Elliott or Cook were not Offensive player of the year and then you start calling them washed the very next year.CMC per Pro Football focus had his worst game since 2019 at a 50.8 Sunday but you know who was worst Mason with a 38 somebody else who I think knows more than you do.

He was recruited by Paul Johnson who ran the flexbone and he was perfect size for a fb in that offense which was a ball carrier
I hope it is not an ACL injury. Shut him and all of our other injured stars down for the rest of the season.

He was moving to easy for it to be an ACL.
I'm hearing it is the same injury he had.

CMC is done for the season.

Look, put him on ice and get him ready for next year.
shanny sounded like he's very done
Done and dusted.

Put a fork in CMC, he is cooked.

ESPN says it's the right knee on the previous play were he about broke it but Rapp tripped him up and he came down hard on the knee. If that's it could be a bone bruise which would make him fall down on the next play.
hopefully its not serious

He was slowing down to fall before that, I believe it was his knee from the previous play

Dude, you're a vet on this forum. You should know better. Stop posting this.
gonna puke if this turns into a worse injury, and Jeanty falls in the draft and Kyle/Lynch makes the ultimate crossroads draft pick
