Many of you have pointed out McCaffrey has an injury history...and he does. However, I say it's mostly due to his misuse (sp) in Carolina. They overused him...he led the league in touches more than once. The problem with that is a good chunk of those were between the tackles, and that's not in his or the team's best interests in the long haul. Shanahan won't do that...he has enough other RB's to do the power running. What he didn't have is a RB who's an experienced, elite pass receiver and now he does. If he plays on Sunday it'll likely be in the RZ. CMC will present another tough challenge to defenses, starting w/KC's. Mitchell will be returning soon, most likely after the bye. That'll give Coach a real 1-2 punch out of the backfield.

Might end up being the most important W of the regular season, which is weird when it was against a reeling non-division opponent in Week 5.

Just talking to coworker about the possible today. I was like, never in a million years it would happen. It's just not like this regime to put so much into a rb. I was speaking so confidently 😂. Kept shutting him down. Definitely have some apologizing to do tomorrow.
I'm stoke though. Hopefully he can stay healthy. People talking about the panthers overusing him but that's exactly what Shanny has been doing also. Hope for the best. Looks like we're going all in.

We have him locked thru 2025. This isn't bad … only $1m injury guarantee
San Francisco will need to pay just $690,000 for the remainder of the season, NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero noted. Thereafter, Pelissero added CMC is on the books for $12 million in 2023 and 2024, $12.2 million in 2025 and just $1 million guaranteed for injury.

But if it is for the picks reported and the salary cap needed in the future... it's hard to see whether it's worth the investment. That isnt to take away from CMC or Shanny, but neither of them line up at DE or DB. Maybe we are going full Jimmy check down since no one can catch a pass down the middle?
Did we just Ditka this next draft for a weapon Kyle is going to overuse and injure within his first 100 plays here?
The picks are no big deal. He'll be better for us than all those picks combined would be.
His salary is manageable, especially with the cap going up.
People seriously need to stop trying to predict and hope for an injury to our players just so they can feel like they were right.
Bro trust... Take every roster in the NFL and guarantee them health...the niners would be in it to win it. Aint no one wishing injuries on anyone. Give Mostert health under Shanny... mopho could of had 2000 yards.
Sad fact is its a part of the sport. I hoooooope upon hope that this is a hit and Shannacaffery becomes the staple of all future niner nicknames. There is zero betting against this duo, Just hope they realize the insane potential there is.

I'll believe it when I see it. I really hope he doesn't overuse him between the tackles.
