I think this is a bad trade. I thought the same about Mooney ward vs JC Jackson. I'm always wrong therefore this will be a great trade.

trade the one 3rd for two more 5ths, then package the 2 7th's and next round 6ths for another 5th.

Maybe Wilson gets a payday?

MM's number. Hope he gets 22 from Wilson but doubt it

Just for fun, I looked at the draft value chart for 2023. Here is what I came up with based on the 49ers finishing as the 8th overall seed in the playoffs, a conservative estimate now with CMC on board. In this scenario:
their 2nd round pick, #55 = 350 points,
3rd round pick, #87 = 155 points
4th round pick, #119 = 56 points
5th round pick, #151 = 30 points
TOTAL = 591 POINTS
Compare that to the value of a 1st round pick if the 49ers win the Super Bowl this year = 590.
IOW, in terms of draft value, the 49ers got CMC for the equivalent of a single 1st round pick.
Now I recognize that what Lynch actually gave up is the opportunity to draft four players, however, it is extremely unlikely any of those players will come close to what CMC offers right now.

Which brings me to the fact Grant Cohn on a quick reaction video literally said there was a downside to this trade and then says because how expensive it is. The team gave up way more compensation to draft Trey than they did for CMC. Cohn is perhaps the f**king stupidest talking head in NFL history.

According to ESPN, the 49ers Super Bowl win odds went from +1800 to +1400, and division win odds went up to slight favorites against the field.
Make no mistake: CMC does move the needle despite being a RB.

I'll never forget this route during the draft process that year. This was the day I was all in on this dude. Easily the best route-running RB that I can recall watching.
Mccaffrey running a sluggo. Check out how quickly he gets his hips upfield and that burst (camera man had to play catch up) pic.twitter.com/zPR68mlomu

Some thought he was good enough lol
Luckily the team brass knew better
He didn't do s**t. CMC is the home run hitter we've needed. Sixth Lombardi in the sights, bro.

I see it as instead of Kyle drafting RBs in 2/3 rounds for unproven younger players(also cheaper), you get a proven pro and game changer. Now the only other threat is health. So i'll take it

Yes. Give CAR the rest of the two drafts. Win SBs.
