This. Both are about as average as it gets. Anything outside of the formula, it's game over.
Defense and ST still a terrible mess. Penalties, drops, slow annual starts, etc. The HCing stuff.

This game proves again that Shanahan is no match for Reid...Jimmy's no match for Mahomes. The Chiefs have run roughshod over what supposedly was the #1 defense in the league. While I'm at it, much as I love Ryans, he's no match yet for Spagnola. RT is a position of definite need. McGlinchey's still a liability in pass pro. Brunskill's not the answer at either RG or RT. Hoping Burford can develop into a solid RG. All that said, the ills of our team are plentiful. That's despite what has been deemed by many to be one of the best rosters in the NFL. For me, that ultimately falls on Shanahan. So, I'm advocating for a change...Jed, you need to replace KS with Sean Payton. The latter's won a SB. 16 yrs as HC of the Saints and one of the most brilliant offensive minds in the NFL. He'd likely bring Dennis Allen in as his DC. Allen's not really HC material...but he's a heckuva DC. I know I'm getting ahead of myself, but I really don't see the Niners getting to much less winning a SB without some major changes at HC and GM. It's really that simple. I hope the Niners prove me wrong, but something tells me they just won't.
