Who holds this offense back more?

Player execution.

Any HC would say that execution at the end of the day is on him. The product on the field is on him. Particularly when it's year 6 and he buys his own groceries.

Any real leader is going to take full responsibilty for his team.

Yup. That's why they say at the end of the day you are your record.

Some criticism is warranted but people are just going way over the top with the whole "why isn't this offense putting up 40-burgers every game already" or whatever. As talented and high football IQ CMC is he's still only been here a few weeks. He didn't come from a zone run blocking scheme like this either. Gonna be a learning curve whether people like it or not. If people are expecting this offense going for 600 yards a game and all five eligibles scoring 20+ fantasy points every time then you'll be sorely disappointed.

Yup. We are 5-4 and in the playoffs if they started today.

Yup to me it's not the yds as much as some of the decisions. I think the analytics would say our win prob goes down when we settle for 20 yd field goals. KS it not very analytical. Also toward the end we settled for making a one score game.. still a one score game. Keep the FG team off the field when you have elite skill guys, use em.

This I confess is nitpicking overall we are doing really good. Biggest KS complaint is the QB situation over his time here. Nothing can be done about it now, gotta ride with what we got.
The fact that this is even close is telling.

Just to play devil's advocate in the "who's to blame thread"...they also lost because their QB handed the Vikings the game on a silver platter.

This is why I refuse to complain after a good(not pretty) win. We played pretty well in all 3 phases, we just left too points off the board.

The only people it's telling anything about are the fans. If anyone thinks KS would be unemployed for more than 1/2 second, should we move on, is fooling themselves. Whereas finding someone who wants JG has already proved to be a monumental challenge.

True. There's always a team who could use an OC.

And a backup QB.

I think 4-5 teams would give their left ball sack if they knew they could get a healthy Jimmy at 6 mil a year like we did. Specifically the Colts, Steelers, and Panthers. Possibly Falcons and Commanders would be better with him as well. The problem was the pricetag and the injury at the time. If Jimmy stays healthy he will have zero issues finding a suitor. If we were in a position to trade him next off-season that would not be an issue either.

Why would they hire him as an OC if (apparently) his system sucks and so does his playcalling?

Jimmy. And it ain't even close. See the Falcons offense of 2016 and you will see what Kyle can do with a better QB.

This. It's obvious. The only difference between us and other teams with weapons is that our quarterback simply isn't as good.

Don't get me wrong, Jimmy is a solid quarterback, but we all know he has a multitude of deficiencies.

He can't consistently extend plays and has a history of making WTF throws when he has to make plays off schedule. He takes a lot of headscratching sacks he could easily avoid by throwing the ball away. He seems to often visually miss guys running wide open deep down the field. Throws outside the numbers aren't a strength, nor is the deep ball, nor is he much of a threat to run.

Kyle does what he can to cater to what Jimmy can do, and there's no question our offense could look a LOT worse if he tried to run the stuff Jimmy sucks at, and you best believe people would be ripping him and Jimmy much more than they are now.

Right now, plain and simple, we just haven't made a ton of plays in the red zone nor have we forced a lot of turnovers for a short field lately.
