Both.
But, unlike Shanahan, "the best young mind in football", Jimmy has never been touted as a top QB.

Probably. I'm genuinely curious because the comments this year in the head coach thread really makes me wonder.

You can't the way the question is phrased, or you would be wrong.

Jimmy has limitations, Kyle overplays his hand trying to control potential damage done by those limitations.
Basically true, but can also be said as:
Jimmy, and Kyle (because of Jimmy).
Well yes, but I think we've reached the point where Kyle is making it worse trying to control Jimmy rather than manage him so Kyle deserves his fair share of questions too.

Jimmy. And it ain't even close. See the Falcons offense of 2016 and you will see what Kyle can do with a better QB.
Maybe Kyle's offense isn't the new surprise it used to be. But I agree at times Jimmy goes into another dimension and can't function. He's better than average, but he's not going to bail us out or throw us back into a game

I think one can reject the premise of the question with both or neither those should be options..

Did he officially give up any sacks tonight? One from Mack but that wasn't vs McG no one even blocked Mack by design

Which is why we all look forward to having a different QB, just to see a different screenplay.

I think we're playing fine and I really don't understand the finger pointing.. Obviously I'm not sitting here saying we played overly spectacular but we are moving the ball well we just are not executing and finishing drives and leaving too many points off the old board ....Or we just do soothing stupid to end drives. .
This drive won us the game. It started at 14:52 and ended at 7:54. Some really key third downs here that many good QBs around the league failed to do today.

Unfortunately the inability to finish is not a new problem. It's more of a concerning pattern that people want answers for because we have almost no chance of going on a playoff run without it costing us at some point.

Trick question in that KS has roster control so even if you say JG you are saying KS cuz it's his hand picked QB.. the poll is therefore 100% KS

When you are starting the backup QB by definition he is not "hand picked".
The overuse of that term on this board is hilarious.

From what I've seen from jimmy this season and what I've seen from kyle…kyle by a country mile.
even if you hate jimmy he's not a horrible qb. Even his biggest detractors would HAVE to admit he's at best, decent, and at worst, blah.
the most objective is that at his best he can be pretty darn good and at his worst he's still not awful, but can be pretty bad.
So shanahan by all accounts has a decent qb, and literally pro bowlers LITTERED on the offense and he can't figure out how to score points.
he was a better play caller with mullens and backups. This offense looked worse with mccaffrey than it did before him. Maybe shanahan likes a challenge and needs a talent bereft roster to make him look better than he is.
