I'm worried we've got the altitude training for this match wrong. I'm basing this off my understanding of how rugby teams have coped with playing in the altitude of the Highveld in South Africa.

Usually, you either fly in just before the game and then back home shortly after or

you do 2 weeks of acclimatisation.

We have done just one week of acclimatisation. I understand Cardinals are going with option 1.
If we got it wrong, we will see our team gassed in the 2nd half of the game.

My parents live at 8000 ft. I live at 2300 ft. It takes about 2 to 3 days to get acclimated for me. (Mid 30s).

Happy they aren't paying in Buffalo this week. Papa just said they're expecting lake effects snowfall of 6 feet! If that happens during the game I din't know how they can play.

Are you playing elite sports up there.
I understand it's a big difference.

Of course not, but it's a function of time, respiratory health, and overall conditioning. Assume the latter two are "full", and the second one being essentially 5 days at some elevation (~6000 ft and ~7500 ft)

When I was young we used to go to Denver to visit relatives. I never felt out of breath but I did get nose bleeds a couple of times. I think it the combination of dry air and altitude. Mexico City is 2000 ft higher and they have terrible air pollution there as you might expect from an area with over 21 million people.

The 49ers have had 2 straight games without any injuries. I hope the altitude doesn't cause fatigue that leads to injuries.

george kittle plays videogames

Been here a day and a half and haven't felt any difference then back home in Santa Clara, except as mentioned dry air and pollution. No car rental, so we're walking every where

The heck with altitude training. What about smog training? Should just train in Levi's South.

Awesome
Was there an issue (other than maybe security) with going early to practice in Mexico City as opposed to Colorado Springs?

You went all the way to Mexico City to root for Jimmy to get hurt? Damn.
Looks like it will be another weak without Armstead. I really wonder what is going on with him and these injuries he's dealing with.

He fractured his ankle? I don't think there's much of a mystery as to why he's missed time
