The true contenders

Eagles
Cowboys
Vikings
49ers

everyone else - pretender

Bucs will probably rise up to contender ranks if they figure out the run game on the bye.. plus they have THAT GUY

i disagree about the Bucs they have a horrible OL the seahawks dont have a great pass rush (their secondary is good) and were not able to take advantage

I do have them in pretender status now.. I am guessing you disagree that they won't elevate over the season??

Realize tho they have.. THAT GUY

Never bet against THAT GUY

We need to beat the Seahawks and be #3. Which I think we can. Cousins folds in the playoffs so they get bounced out. We can beat the Eagles. I don't think they are as good as their record at all. I also don't think the NFC East is generally as good as they are portraying it as.

im looking at the #3 seed as well i don't think we can catch the #2 seed although it isnt impossible ( we are 3 games behind) we would have to win out and honestly i think we lose 2 more games in season

I would be very happy with #3 seed will host at least 1 maybe 2 playoff games.

Yeah I agree. I think we can get there. We are as good as anybody. We can beat those top 2 IMO. I don't think they are unbeatable.

i'm worried about the cowboys than eagles and bucs, vikings. I bet they are looking to avenge that playoff loss we gave them. Their defense is the best out of vikings, eagles and bucs.

We are easily a playoff team. That is the peak for us this year.

Don't be a negative nancy. We can beat Philly in Philly Heinicke just did it.

Technically, we could beat most teams In the league on our day. It's all about finding that consistency by cleaning up our mistakes

If we end up as the #3 seed we will end up hosting #6 which is going to be likely the Giants/Cowboys.

Minnesota as #2 would host #7 which would be the Seahawks or Redskins as it stands.

The #4 Bucs would host the #5 Giants/Cowboys.

Assuming we are #3 and could get past #6...to get a 2nd round home game we would need the #7 seed to beat Minnesota. That way the #7 seed would play @ Philly and the winner of #4 vs #5 would play @ #3

None of this matters of course, unless we take care of our division.

*NFC
Seahawks look like they may only lose 3 more games:

Chiefs
Niners
Jets?
Rams twice?

They will beat the Panthers and nasty Raiders, they'll likely end up 9-8 or 10-7.

If niners can beat the seahwaks and finish 10- 7, that should get them the division I think.

SEA is one of those weird teams that could beat anyone or lose to anyone imo

This is not true. 9ers4eva said the Hawks won't win 8 games and Hysterikal said the Rams are our #1 competition. That's what the WZ told us.
We are about to regain the division lead on Monday night and not let it go from then on out.
Without looking at anyone's schedules, I'm predicting we win the NFC West and get the #3 seed. I think the Eagles and Vikings have too much of a lead... one of them will win homefield advantage.

To me, what I'm really looking at is winning the division. There's not a team that really scares me, if we're playing to what we're capable of. I presume our team will settle into a groove and peak in the second half of the season, like last year. I think we'll step into the playoffs like we did last year... as the team no one wants to play against. I think it's key to win the division to secure a home game in the wild card... and obviously, get as high a seed as we can.

And then when we get in... It'll be interesting. We're largely the same team as last year. I think with the improved secondary and the addition of CMC, we can be even better than we were last year. But we haven't shown the consistency and execution yet. A lot of potential, but we haven't realized it yet. It's going to be fun the next two months.

This is exactly the scenario that I've been playing out in my head and will happen imo. Unless we have major injuries again.
