We are about to regain the division lead on Monday night and not let it go from then on out.

We better! No excuses. For any crowd.

I can live with that.

It begins on Monday night against a division opponent who has been a tough cookie to crack lately. I can see us coming out with a pass centric gameplan to open up the run game later on. Just like you want to see. I love the executive decision to practice a few days in the cold, high altitude of colorado to prepare for this game. Mexico city maybe at a higher altitude but cold it will not be. Cold air is just as rough on the respiratory system as the thinner air of higher altitudes. If the cardinals have not prepared as much as we have for these game time conditions, we just might make quick work of these guys.

I do! But only because that's where we've found the most success of the two options. But, like last week, if it's not working, I'd just as much want Kyle to pivot to the run game. Just don't beat your head against the wall. We have too much talent to play any style we want. No need to be ultra conservative, vanilla and predictable anymore. Go for it. And be ready to pivot just in case. Details.

I feel really good about this game.

I originally said this was a top 7 roster and #1 with depth. Then they added CMC. That pushes us to top 5 to me. Our talent alone will keep us in any game minus a team like KC (play calling) and Atlanta (can run our formula just as well as we can).

Its actually been a mixed bag when you look at it though. We lost 2 games when we failed to get the run game going, which were the ATL game and DEN game. We also lost the CHI game and the KC game even though we ran the ball rather well. 4 out of our 5 wins we have ran the ball really well and only the Monday night rams game did we fail to get the run game going.
We can easily win out, only games that I have concerns about are the Fins and Bucs. Luckily we're at home for both.

And Seattle.

They're playing good football and it's a night game. In Seattle.

If you're not worried about that, you're a bit delusional.

I'm not worried about it. Obviously a different team than we've been playing and nowhere near as good as their record.

Hmm, that's a good way of looking at it too. When I was referencing DL's pass-to-set-up-the-run vs. run-to-set-up-the-pass charting, this was what he was talking about. And his advanced metrics showed a big split between the two.

That was after that Monday night rams game. Which is the only win we have where the run game wasn't getting it done.

Yeah, he's been tracking all year. I'm 'guessing' he's looking at more how we start games not necessarily the cumulative end result.

This may be related too.

Jimmy approves.

"It just gets tight," Garoppolo said. "So sometimes you've got to pass to set up the run."

And having CMC definitely helps. I'm a lot more concerned with the Fins and Bucs.

Updated to include todays games

Overall it was a pretty good day for us

Lions beating the giants puts us a game closer to them so in case we don't win the division it increases the chances we can get a higher record than them

Sucks that eagles were able to pull out a win but Vikings losing is huge with a win tomorrow that puts us 2 games behind them.
I'm not feeling the #1 seed gets a bye week only. We have a great chance at the #2 seed
vs. NY Giants…
