49ers win and Seahawks loss today really helps. Now if we can just get the Vikings and Eagles to lose some games. LOL. It seems like they never do.
Seahawks and Bucs losing is huge gives us a game cushion and gives us an even bigger buffer for the #3 seed

Still 2 games behind the number 2 seed we still have the same conference record which means if we catch up to Vikings in record its likely we will end up with #2 seed based on that tie breaker. They still have to play their entire division along with Jets, Colts, and Giants.
Vikings losing is huge we are 1 game behind the #2 seed. Since e have the better conference record in the event we end up with the same record we would win the tie breaker.

Vikings still have to play Colts, Giants, Packers, and Bears

so 2 division opponents and the giants who will be playing hard for a win
The niners win Thursday and they clinch the division.

They'll be 10-4
Seahawks 7-7

3 games left and they own the tiebreaker.

we actually clinch the #3 seed with a win this thursday too with us now owning the tiebreaker against the Bucs
My kid is a die hard Panthers fan (loved Cam and stayed loyal lol) so today was an awesome day in our household.

He was watching in the basement so it was funny to hear us rotating cheers and the flipping to the other person's game.

I see Vikings going 3-1 in that stretch. At worst 2-2. Niners need to win out which would be crazy given how the season started

Eagles and Cowboys can't both be in the top 4 (Division seeds). One has to be a wildcard.

Do we actually clinch at least #3 if we win?
If we win, the worst record we can finish with is 10-7, and the NFC South leading Bucs are already 6-7.

We have the edge on them in head-to-head tie-breaking procedures, but if there's the unlikely scenario where we, the Buccaneers, AND NFC North leader (most likely Vikings, OR Lions) finish 10-7... then it becomes more murky: Head-to-head might not apply since we haven't played the Vikings/Lions? So then it goes to divisional record tiebreaker?

That's a very big game then. We got to win that and stay mostly healthy coming out too.

Exactly. You can't just look at wins. If the Eagles win the Cowboys are the Wild Card. Because they didn't win their division. We get them at home. No matter how many wins.
