Difficult question to answer. Finding the right combination of coaches and players can be difficult, and we've had quite a bit of turnover in both departments. It's not unreasonable to think we may have a chemistry hiccup somewhere along line.

but I agree wholeheartedly. We rarely have a drive with perfect execution. Penalties, drops, missed blocks, bad QB reads, silly playcalls etc… at least one gaff per drive.

and then when we do have great execution, we mess up the extra point or give up a 50 yard kickoff return.

it can be aggravating 🤣🤣

Exactly this.

I was hoping by now, esp. after a bye-week, and full health, much of this would be cleaned up. Not yet. If the goal is Championship football, all of this needs to be cleaned up by the 4Q or it'll cost us again. These same issues cost us in both the Superbowl and NFCCG loss too.

We can't ever expect perfection but the theme of "shooting ourselves in the foot" remains AND we've yet to play one complete game with all three phases.

That's on the entire coaching staff, IMHO.

And the coaching staff saw a TON of turnover. I just want the team peaking at the right time. Ravens fans thought their team was cooked in both 2000 and 2012 with all their in-season stuff. The 2011 Giants were almost kept from the playoffs until Tom Coughlins now famous, "I love you guys" speech that turned their last 4 games and playoff run around. Peak at the right time.

It certainly did. My biggest concern coming into the season from an administrative perspective, was a full blown burnout from Kyle who tries to do everything. He had about 10 days of rest after a long post season run and then immediately had to hire and start training an entire new coaching staff. He's aged about 10 years so far.

He is still hanging in there tough and his team is currently in playoff contention.

First place with a win on Monday.

Yes. You'd think we were knocked out of playoff contention by the negative posts this week after a solid win. Yet here we are with a chance to regain the spot at the top of the division in week 11 of a 18 week season.

He is! Many would have folded by now. You gotta respect the hustle and grind. Nobody works harder than him. If anything, I wish he had more help so he could pivot to more of the HC stuff.

Yes, your need to defend anything-Kyle. NY can give you a run for your money on Monday mornings though.

PS: You know I'm just messing with you. I'll do a better job at also highlighting the great things he's doing too.

Nah. I saw them blitz and play man behind it in the 2nd half. Maybe I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure I did.

edit: just checked, they are wrong. I would not rely on Lombardi and Barrows for film takes. State of the team, updates, they are good for that.

I doubt you are. Maybe he meant predominantly...as to what that change was.

Another cool tidbit was C.Ward is #1 in all positions in run defense (92 grade) with 0 missed tackles.

Yes, guys gotta do their jobs. In our losses, it always seemed that somebody was asleep at the switch. Wondered if it was maybe young guys who weren't paying attention, or was it both youth and experienced guys making an error vs not paying attn? Since we have both youth and experience it probably is both, but is more obvious when a young guy screws up. DBs at start just looked unprepared vs LAC . Couple games ago, Big Trent fanned on a couple blocks. Pick a player and we see drops, muffed routes, missed blocks, fumbles, blown coverages, PI, offsides, etc, and you will see virtually everybody guilty of something, and that includes Jimmy.

I just don't recall this being an issue in years past where half way thru season we are still making rookies mistakes across the board. Against a WR like Kupp, sure , i get it. He can beat anybody. But at start of game, watching DBs get torched for first 3-4 minutes….that was painful to watch. And it isn't just one guy. It seems like different guys take turns at making mistakes, some very elemental.

How one explains that…IDK. And maybe it is more young guys make mistakes, but overall, at one time or another, everyone seems to be guilty of lack of concentration, or just missing assignments. Did we do this in yrs past, or am I just imagining that we are making more mistakes now than our teams in the past?

Bye Week hang over. This team is healthy now and just warming up, only way to go deep into the playoffs again is going to take great team effort as a whole and Jimmy staying consistently 65-72/100 at QB1 and not making bonehead decisions and moves and running the ball as much as possible with CMC and Mitchell to setup the passing game.

1st and 2nd down nearly every play was palms/2-read. 3rd down they blitzed
Tonight at 4 PM PST I'm gonna be on Waynebreezies show and I'm gonna cover 4 big time misses in the run game. 3 could've been huge explosives for TD's on drives that ended in punts.

Right, let's blame the player execution on the field on KS's playcalling some more especially after a bye week hangover 🤣
