It took two 1st round picks to move up for Lance. Would you trade Jimmy G right now to get those picks back (assume we get the draft position that we gave up)? Means we'd finish the season with Purdy and move on to Trey next season, but then Trey would only have costed us our 2021 1st.

bro. if we're primed to win the Superbowl right now, this season, I want a f**king SuperBowl.
otherwise, you not only have a WASTED season because Trey lance doesn't develop
AND
you waste it x2 by trading Jimmy away and starting Purdy.
lol. hell no.

Uhhh... So, trade draft capital for CMC, which essentially is an all-in kind of move....... and then trade your current-starting QB, with the intention of riding a rookie QB drafted with the last pick in the draft for the remainder of the year. That's a No for me.

I agree with you both. Was just curious because the attitude of some in the Jimmy thread is that any average QB could do what Jimmy is doing. I'm not even sure I'd do it for three 1sts which would make Trey free. Lol.

Much more intriguing question: Did ShanaLynch make a mistake in not extending Jimmy a year in renegotiations?

and no playoff run? no.
The real question is would you trade Lance for those 2 firsts. Much more interesting question.

No obviously. We have a chance to get to and possibly win the Super Bowl. You don't trade that under any circumstances.

At this point I wouldn't do it if Trey was gonna be healthy enough to finish the season.
I'd consider it in the off-season tho, assuming the context that even a Super Bowl win won't bring Jimmy back.

Jimmy wouldn't have signed that deal.
He only re-signed with us because he didn't have any options due to the shoulder surgery. There was a sense that Jimmy was going to be trade bait for if another team's starting QB got injured and desperate. But it turns out, our starting QB got injured and here we are.

No. In fact, it might be time for us all to step back and let the adults who run the show...run the damn show and re-sign Jimmy G.
