Would you trade Jimmy G right now for the picks that it took to move up to get Trey Lance?

Why would you trade Jimmy now (when you have no one else better and/or healthy atm)?
And no one will trade even a 1st or 2nd for Jimmy even if he is playing well with all these weapons on offense and KS playcalling, plus it's too late in the season and he's going to be a FA after this season. His track record, limitations, age and injury history are all known to all GMs, why no other team wanted him in the off season, they will wait for him when the season is over when he becomes a FA and then bid for him (price wise) depending on how well he plays and how far he goes and leads in the playoffs as QB1, he'll probably get either a max 2-3 year deal or a 1 year prove it deal somewhere else that needs a QB upgrade depending on how well he CONTINUES TO PERFORM THE REST OF THE SEASON, THIS IS EXACTLY WHY LYNCH AND KS WAITING IT OUT IN THE OFF SEASON AND NO OTHER TEAM WANTED TO TRADE FOR JIMMY AND HE WAS FORCED TO COME BACK AND TAKE A BIG PAY CUT TO BE THE BACKUP ON A INCENTIVE-LADEN DEAL WAS THE SMARTEST MOVE THE 9ERS COULD HAVE MADE, IT WAS GENIUS ON LYNCH AND KS 👏 👏 👏 👏

AS THE FO/GM/HC of ANY NFL TEAM, YOU SHOULD ALWAYS BE LOOKING OUT FOR THE BEST INTEREST OF YOUR TEAM AS A WHOLE AND FOR THE SHORT TERM AND MORE IMPORTANTLY LONG TERM FUTURE, ELSE YOU SHOULD BE FIRED FOR NOT DOING YOUR JOB.

There's something about the way your write that makes me think you really believe in what you're saying, especially towards the bottom.

Some contradictory ideas in there, though….. underlined vs bolded 👍🏻

Let's be realistic about Jimmy, if he was ON ANY OTHER LESSER (roster wise) NFL TEAM right now like CAR, CLE, HOU for example and without a good HC and playcaller like KS, given his limitations, he would be back to his regular self week in week out at best 65/100 like he was playing and losing in the DEN, ATL, KC games (when the 9er active healthy roster wasn't the best on the field same as a less roster NFL team) especially without acquiring
a CMC and being used by KS as HC/playcaller on top of ALL the other offensive weapons and a strong Def roster and very good DC. He would be slightly better (but STILL not as good as being with the 9ers who he has familiarity and a better roster when healthy) if he went to WAS or SEA (divisional rival) for example because of their decent roster, that's why KS and LYNCH didn't want him to go to SEA no matter what happens, therefore it was GENIUS AND THE BEST OPTION FOR THE 9ERS AS A TEAM IN THE SHORT TERM that they were able to get him to take a pay cut and be the backup on a incentive-laden deal!!!!

And don't ANYONE get it twisted, it was in Jimmy's own BEST INTEREST to stay with the 9ers because going to any lesser team could easily mean the end of his NFL CAREER and any more big money contract down the road especially without TC because he did his surgery late of his own choosing and strategy, I'm sure his agent advised him in both instances of the surgery and to resign with the 9ers with regard to MONEY.

Right now the situation for them: Jimmy and (KS LYNCH and the 49ers) is mutually beneficial, we'll see how far it goes and how good it can get at the end of the season, if they get to the SB AND WINT IT, everyone looks good and everyone benefits, if not KS, Lynch and the 49ers simply move on like they were going to do this year with Trey Lance at QB1 and Jimmy might still be the scapegoat just like the end of last season 🤣 aka nothing has really changed after a year 🤣 we will see if they do make it to the SB and if they win it with this BETTER ROSTER especially after acquiring CMC, aka CMC is the real difference not Jimmy 🤣

Remember Terrell Davis when Denver won 2 SBs? There you go... Championship D and a strong running game do win championships, especially without a Great QB1 that is..

No way. That would be throwing away the season for the future which is always a crapshoot. They would have to go with Purdy the rest of the way. That wouldn't be fair to the rest of the team. Besides, what team would give up 2 first round picks for a half season when they probably would be able to sign him as a free agent next season. He's not the type of QB that's going to walk in and turn around a season for some team. He would need to learn the system and get to know his receivers. By that time the season would be over.

Literally goes on and on about how we'd be stupid to do this trade, then says FO/GM/HC should be looking out for the long term future or else be fired. And never answered the question lol.

So would you do the trade or not? You are on record multiple times saying that Jimmy is average and any QB could do what he does. So why not take the two 1sts and roll with Purdy? We'd still have the strong running game and defense which are carrying Jimmy (per you and others).

  • 2021 - Micah Parsons (could have been enough to push us to the SB)
  • 2022 - We could have used our very late 1st rounder and traded for CMC at the beginning of the year

Hey yo say wut???

Imagine if we drafted Patrick Mahomes instead of Solomon Thomas. And then Budda Baker or Cooper Cupp instead of Foster.

It would be foolish not to. The odds of jimmy winning it all are very very low

Bruh that's not something you do in the midst of a potential playoff run with a rookie as the only healthy backup.
Yes.
