SF 49ers vs Saints Pregame Thread - 2022 Season week 12

Saints are getting some players back, but SF should win this one no questions asked.

Saints are better than the Cardinals, and IMO better than their record.

We should win on paper, and I think as long as we get to Dalton, we take this one.

Thinking Niners 27, Saints 20

We are at home so we should definitely have an edge. I noticed we practically have all home games left the rest of this season. Even our away games, we don't leave the west coast. This is f**king huge IMO.

I agree. I can't help but be worried because Jimmy eventually is going to make a mistake, even as well as he's played lately, we can't expect near flawlessness. Saints are fighting for their season right now. I think they will fight us tough instead of mailing it in like AZ.

Thank you...been preaching in the JG thread that this level of efficiency is probably not sustainable (or fair to expect). The good news is he doesn't have to press anymore and we have more healthy talent to overcome a drop off to the mean.
Difference with Jimmy this year I've seen is CMC, dudes a top end security blanket that Jimmy constantly uses since he likes to check down, picks up 1sts after the catch which extends drives. Add the fact due to that security blanket Jimmy isn't forcing those passes in the middle when he's rushed or not sure what he's seeing

Yes. 52× 1st downs on 148 attempts in the first 5 games before acquiring CMC. 53× 1st downs on 119 attempts in the last 4 games after acquiring CMC. That is a 10% increase in 1st down%.

And that should open up Kittle once defenses try to shut CMC down.
Interesting ranking of receivers based on QB rating when throwing to them vs average team QB rating.

Kittle, McCaffrey and Aiyuk near the top of the league while Deebo is nearly last.

I think it already has. Kittle was absolutely WIDE open against Arizona and Jimmy took advantage of that defensive lapse. Was this due to the attention that AZ placed on CMC? I sure hope so.

Jimmy is playing some mighty fine football right now. The line is giving him the time he needs. He's got an array of receivers and always seems to find the right one when the game is on the line. I hope this trend continues against the Aint's.

Yeah of course we most likely play them with Lattimore at cb and Jordan on the DL. I don't mind but I just want games where we don't have to fight until the end and risk our starters getting injured. Like Deebo this week.

Just stick to the passing game as you did. It was good to see it and it worked. Don't crap the bed and get all conservative.

He's near Diggs and Kelce so that's very good.
