Burropollo sucks, Samuel is not the same anymore and mcglinchey should be getting real job interviews instead of getting paid for a professional sport

This. Big time
They did play well, but let's not act like they would have held the Chiefs to only 13 points.

It was a tale of 2 halves.
Simple stats:
1st Half: 214 Yards, 10 Points --- A good, but not great performance.
2nd Half: 103 Yards, 3 Points --- An okay, but not bad performance. (See below)
TOTAL: 317 Yards, 13 Points
(The #1 offense in yardage does 429.3 ypg... Before this game, we were #9 at 362.7 ypg. The #16 offense does 348 ypg. The #32 does 279 ypd. In terms of points, #1 is 30 ppg, before this game we were #13 at 23.6 ppg, #16 was 22.6, and #32 was 14.3 ppg.)
FIRST HALF
SECOND HALF
My Opinion: The box score in the second half wasn't pretty. Just 3 points, but considering we only had 4 opportunities--one where we scored a field goal, one where we were backed up at our 1, and then the final drive... that really isn't as bad as you would think. The second half, it also looked like a couple offensive players were gimpy... including our QB.
OVERALL?
The first half suggested we were indeed moving the ball, but just missed some opportunities. Frustrating that a couple plays separate us from being up 21-0 at halftime versus just 10-0 at halftime.
Second half... the context of the game didn't really lend itself to being very productive and then guys started getting banged up. It did feel awkward to not do anything after the opening drive, but it's fantastic that we ate up 6 minutes of clock by running the ball and Shanahan trusted Jimmy to throw on 3rd and 5.
TLDR Version:--Started good, but not great. Finished okay, but not as horrible as the stats would suggest. This game, we're largely celebrating what the defense did... very impressive effort. On offense, we don't need to reinvent the wheel... the sky isn't falling. But we DO have to get better.

FIRST HALF
- I missed the opening drive, but as I understand it, we drove to the redzone. On third down, Jimmy and Kittle had a miscommunication and we had to settle for 3.
- We punted on the next possession after Jimmy overshot CMC on a wheel route.
- On the next drive, backed up at our own 4 yard line, we converted one first down but had to punt after three passes netted zero yards.
- On the next drive, we drove 78 yards but failed to score a TD after getting to 1st and goal on the 6 yard line. Turned the ball over on downs.
- Last drive before halftime, Jennings took over and we eventually scored a TD.
SECOND HALF
- Opening drive in the second half, Jimmy got lucky an interception didn't happen. We got a nice drive here, but it stalled and we kicked a field goal. IIRC, this is the drive that Jimmy took the hit to his leg.
- Next drive, we went three and out.
- Then we got backed up at our own 1 yard line after the defense forced a fumble at the goal line. We played that very safely (understandable), and then punted after a three and out.
- After the Saints last turnover on downs, we ate up 6 minutes of clock and ran the ball for 46 yards. Notably, we had a 3rd and 5 with four minutes to go, where Jimmy converted a third down to Jennings.

I don't get it. Fans think we are gonna blow teams out every single week like this is college football. We have won 4 in row. Just Monday night we blew out the Cardinals. The week before we dominated the chargers. Before that blew out the Rams. I'm not sure what fans are expecting. 13-0 win. What more could you ask for

For me, it has nothing to do with pregame expectations. It has to do with watching the game and seeing the lack of execution that prevented the game from being a blowout. That's the difference.

Sounds like a s**tty way to be a fan of you ask me. It's not like you are the coach or player and can control the outcome. Just enjoy the game for what it is. A win

A s**tty way to be a fan is to analyze a game afterwards? Who said I didn't enjoy a win?
I am aware I am not a coach or a player on the 49ers. Thanks for pointing that out. Guess what? No one else is on this board either. So I guess that means according to you, no one is allowed to discuss, analyze, praise or criticize the play on the field.
Time to shut the board down, mods.

If you are going to nitpick, see what was done well. Be a positive force for posters here in negative webzone land when we win a game. If we lose by all means criticize and critique.

Nice to see us close out the game with the run. Jordan Mason might be that missing back we have been looking for. Tough, in between the tackles, grind out the tough yards and drain the clock! That was a nice positive.
Also, Jimmy taking it on the chops all game and keeping calm. He earned some points with me yesterday. Good job Jimmy!

Not saying they suck, but they not a between the tackles power running type like derick Henry, aj Dillion type , we had that with Wilson but you know we kinda just gave him away
And Wilson got hurt already. I like Mason tbh.

Originally posted by Waterbear:Wilson was not the power back we needed. He needed a hole to get a good run. Mason has displayed the knack of hitting the hole fast and he can drag defenders with him. Small sample size I know, but Wilson was not it.
