This game reminds me of the Bengals game last year.

A game we won too.

A game the Bengals lost.

Yup. Bengals lost due to that amazing 1 handed catch by Kittle at the end of regulation and some dude named Aiyuk tightroping the sideline for the game winner in OT.

That's an interesting way of saying they lost cause their punt returner forgot how to catch.

I guess if you don't want to give a team credit for winning the game, we can look at it through your lense. The way I see it though is 1 team made the plays they needed to in order to win and the other team did not.

Dude your giving Kittle credit for a 1 handed catch as part of the win when it led to a missed FG to win in regulation. Any objective fan would admit the Bengals shot themselves in the foot multiple times. Jamarr Chase had a field day just as Kittle did. We won which I'm glad we did but I remember everyone thanking Phillips the return man for providing 10 points gift wrapped to us.

Like I said. If you don't want to give credit to the team that won. That is fine. We still won the game and it went into the win column for us and the loss column for the bengals and that is all that matters to me.

this is not your ordinary offense folks, this is Shanny's system with a twist, how can you not enjoy this?

I do my friend they have been one of the most highly watchable clubs in the league this year no doubt!

How in the world are we ranked 3 in the nfl.com power rankings?

To me KC is on top
PHI is #2
DAL is #3
MIN #4
SF #5

when i remove the homer goggles i see it like this

Minnesota and Dallas aren't better than the 49ers. And Philly is a paper tiger.

Hard to say at 7-4 we have a better resume than 10-1 or 8-3. The teams on here are all the real deal imo.

True indeed. With the exception of tyreek, the whole team is pretty likeable.

I'm not like scared of Philly but paper tiger is a bit much. They're pretty legit IMO
I'm thinking this game has to be over 46.5, right?

Hmmm... #3 is surprising for Power Rankings, which tend to be a reflection of the team AT PRESENT.
Defense is playing light's out. But while there's a ton to be excited for, I think our offense hasn't yet shown the consistency. Definitely a lot of potential on what they can do, but they're still gelling right now.

But if we're talking about the outlook when it comes to playoffs, I think things look very good. I have a ton of confidence that, if we stay healthy, our offense will gel by the time we get to playoffs. And then when you consider a lot of our core players have been through the experience of two deep playoff runs... the team's physical identity, the fact that defenses show up stronger in the post-season, and the high ceiling of the offense... we're definitely going to go into the playoffs again as the team no one wants to play.

I have a strong suspicion Kyle is going back to a pass-first-centric game plan this game. Call it a hunch.

The truth

I actually think that this is going to be our new identity as an offense. A bit of a spread, horizontal West Coast offense. Jimmy is showing he can operate like this and sling it around. And given his lower turnover ratio this season, I think he's showing we can trust him to throw 30-40 times a game.

It worked in previous seasons to have a dominant running game, centered on the outside zone. But I feel like defenses are just playing it so much better now and that running attack isn't as much of a competitive edge as it used to be.

In previous seasons, we would run... run... soften the defense up... and then boom... the knockout punch would be a Play Action shot play on a 20 yard crosser where the receiver would catch the ball in stride and run for another 30 yards.

This last game looked different... We were pass... pass... pass... and then we hit a well-timed draw that went 20-30 yards for a TD (that unfortunately got called back). Our run game is going to thrive in the second half of games because we're spreading the defense out more.
