season not over until it's over. looking at the standings currently and the Niners have the 3rd best record in the conference and just beat one of the top offenses/ top 5 pass rushes with Purdy.

Was anyone shocked or surprised Jimmy's injury is season ending? I've become so numb to injuries I just took it in stride. I had no feeling at all

Yes I'm not surprised one bit. More disappointing
The odds of us winning it all just fell big time. I really doubt we can make it very far without Jimmy at least. Miami could have embarrassed us if they caught the ball and Tua made accurate throws to wide open receivers in the first half. It could have been ugly but they couldn't capitalize on it.
Over?! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?!

Yes. For Japan is was….
Someone mentioned Baker Mayfield, I shrugged it off at first. But, on second thought you're not going for one of these guys that haven't played in two or three years. Phillip Rivers is another, he could throw a spiral (at times) and can read a defense. Let's see if Shanahan and Lynch look for somebody, anybody.

ok.
It's too early to say yes or no IMO. If we get this same defense we've had the last several weeks in the playoffs? Purdy doesn't have to do much.

Injuries still loom large. Not just for us but for every other team.

Sad for Jimmy. I was looking forward to getting a Jimmy poster in my room if he could win it all. :( I wish him success if not with us then somewhere else.

Now it's time to put aside our differences and root for Purdy.

Can't trade for anyone as we're passed the trade deadline. It would have to be a free agent or signed off of another team's practice squad.

IDK if we can "borrow" another team's roster QB so late in the season.
Purdy played well. There's hope.
To be fair I never thought we would with Jimmy either.

That being said the defense is special this year and playing better and better...

Is that defense, with a very well schemed offense enough in todays NFL? We shall see.

I think Purdy can do a few things that Jimmy can't...but he can mostly play the QB role the same way that Jimmy was playing it in the Shanahan offense. Few mistakes, lots of checkdowns and throws over the middle.

So no, I don't think the season is done.
