Nice won't score more than 10 points vs us. NO held them to 17. Don't disrespect our defense like that!

23-13

9ers will get 2 touchdowns and Gould will carry the day.

Brady will get a few chunk plays with Evans and Fournette can be a load to bring down.

But in the end Niners D will make Brady look 55 y/o

Rock with Brock!
Brock Purdy carries the weight of all the past Mr. Irrelevants on his shoulders as he tries to steady the ship.
He is poised, confident and accurate
His teammates are ready to shoulder the responsibility, which could get the best out of them
This team is bigger than any one player

Some decent quotes from analysts this week. Let's have this one week of praising Purdy, hopefully it lasts longer.

the same people said the same things about Mullens.

The difference I see in Mullens first game is that we relied heavily on the run game with Mullens only attempting 22 passes. His favorite target was Kittle. No one knew who George Kittle was back then and wasn't drawing the coverages that he does now. While no one can predict the future and what kind of player Purdy will turn out to be. It doesn't mean we cannot be optimistic after his solid performance this past Sunday against one of the leagues top teams.
One thing I think Brock Purdy brings back into the equation is the zone read, something he did a TON OF in college (he had 19 rushing TDs in college). In fact, if you look at his college tape, it's almost as if he ran a nearly identical system to what we've done here with the play action and heavy short/screen game.

I can't believe this super bowl roster went from Lance, to Jimmy, to Purdy

Good point. Dust off the Lance playbook and let's pound Brock into the B gap. Seriously though I do think zone read can be brought back to help boost the run game.

Oh, that hadn't crossed my mind! I guess we didn't see any of that last week because the gameplan was for Jimmy. I'm not sure how much I want to see if it, though. We didn't have much success running it with Trey, and Brock was extremely efficient with the JG game.

I think one time, show the defense that Brock can gain 6-8 yards if he's not accounted for, and that's all is needed to have the DE respect the mesh point.

I would be ok with a "controlled" zone read. I see some zone reads that gets Hurts to the sideline right away and someone just nudges him out of bounds. None of this power runs with the QB crap

We go through QBs like we go through RBs. Should draft more QBs in the third round.

Next 2 games are crazy important. Win both and they are sitting pretty for division and 3 seed
So Juan Jenning was a 4 Star QB coming out of High school? Where has that trick play been hiding all these years.

I think the Seattle game is key, since it's assumed the 49ers will beat the Cardinals end of the year, to make it 6-0. The Raiders are playing well lately, the Bucs with Brady are always a tough matchup, and Washington has it's own tight struggles in it's division.
Got to wait till the fat lady sings.
