SF is rolling right now, and the Bucs are not. easy pick for me, SF wins at home. Defense, Gould, and run game. I'm more worried about next week, and my PTSD from seattle over the last ten years

B-Rock's gonna turn a lot of head and may even remind some of Brady's year when he took over the Patriots after Bledsoe got hurt against the Jets..

Rock with Brock!
Brock Purdy carries the weight of all the past Mr. Irrelevants on his shoulders as he tries to steady the ship.
He is poised, confident and accurate
His teammates are ready to shoulder the responsibility, which could get the best out of them
This team is bigger than any one player
Some decent quotes from analysts this week. Let's have this one week of praising Purdy, hopefully it lasts longer.
the same people said the same things about Mullens.
The difference I see in Mullens first game is that we relied heavily on the run game with Mullens only attempting 22 passes. His favorite target was Kittle. No one knew who George Kittle was back then and wasn't drawing the coverages that he does now. While no one can predict the future and what kind of player Purdy will turn out to be. It doesn't mean we cannot be optimistic after his solid performance this past Sunday against one of the leagues top teams.
I am absolutely optimistic.
I am not even concerned about what round he was drafted in.
Its just that there are tough games ahead (even if Jimmy was healthy) and tough teams in the playoffs.
You know whats crazy? in the Miami game he could just go out and sling it. (he had 2 embarrassing zach wilson overthrows and then all of sudden got very accurate)
I wonder how much a full week of practice with ones and absorbing the game plan + playing the bucs messes with the gunslinger we saw Sunday

Wary of this one, though I think the defense should be in Brady's lap all day. Running game and OL will need to show up for sure because TBs line will be coming for Brock like crazy. If the LBs shut down the quick passing game I think we will be good.

GOOD NEWS: CBS Guru John Breech picked the Dolphins to beat the 49ers last weekend.
Those guys at CBS including Pete Prisco have been against the Niners for years. I think a lot of them root for teams that got their asses handed to them by us in the 80s/90s, but yea they pick against us weekly.

The Bucs OL is a mess their offense isnt that good frankly one of the most inefficient in league right now
Their D is still good but definitely not as good as years past partly because their offense isnt on the field as much. I think this is a win and we cover.

I think the Seattle game is key, since it's assumed the 49ers will beat the Cardinals end of the year, to make it 6-0. The Raiders are playing well lately, the Bucs with Brady are always a tough matchup, and Washington has it's own tight struggles in it's division.
Got to wait till the fat lady sings.
ya and honestly i dont feel great about seahawks game we did completely shut down their offense in first game and i think we can do it again but Thursday games are notorious for random crap happening and playing in seattle is never easy

Glad this isn't prime time. I think we're 5x better than the bucs, but refs/ league will always conspire for Tom's success and Brock could really regress against a better and more prepared D. I think we lose a really close one, and then beat Seattle.

it usually takes 2-3 games for defenses to get tape on a Qb and kind of game plan thats why sometimes backup Qs can have big games early on
(remember Troy smith lol)

Our defense is good enough to win this game for us. The offense just needs to not turn the ball over.

Ultimately, we'll need Purdy to score 17+ pts (unless the defense scores). He could have a major drop off from last week and still win.

Ultimately, we should lean on our run game and defense and not ask a 7th round rookie QB to have to do too much against the 5th ranked pass defense.
