Tua had high accuracy stats before he played the Niners. Saying defense benefited from Tua's inaccuracies is somewhat incorrect. More like the defense made Tua inaccurate

Yep, JonnyDel covered it pretty well.
After Fred almost picked that DIG route on the second series he started trying to throw high to avoid our LB's underneath.
Tyreek Hill measured 5'8 at his Pro Day and Waddle is about the same so there's very little margin for error there.

You saw it again when the backup came in on the last series. They ran the same routes, he didn't layer the ball over the underneath linebacker and Fred picked it.
That would've happened to Tua all day if he wasn't throwing high.

I thought it was a mix of both - Tua being inaccurate because of the 49ers coverage, and Tua simply throwing inaccurate passes. Off the top of my head I can think of three instances I thought Tua butchered a throw that he should have hit. One was on a 3rd down Out route (from slot) to Waddle that he threw too low, another where some WR was running a crosser and Tua overthrew him, and it would have been a huge catch and run. The last one jd showed where Tua overthrew JWilson up the sideline. Tua looked very meh, and if it wasn't for his season stats where he is #1 in many categories, I would have thought he was some middling QB.

What I saw was what I would expect to see if Jimmy was playing our defense, minus the deep post to Hill. We took away the middle of the field for much of the game and forced him to throw the ball outside the numbers a lot. Tua is not an accurate passer outside the numbers.

Based on the one full game I've seen of Tua (vs 49ers), I agree.
Just realized this is the Bucs thread.

Maybe its a coincidence but Tua wasn't known for being very accurate until MM came to town with Kyle's system and Tua started throwing it down the middle of the field more than Jimmy.

Looks like rain predicted for Sunday. There's an atmospheric river building and the amount of rain, if heavy at game time is TBD. But for now Saturday is going to be really wet so the field should be sloppy before game time.

That normally helps us against fast teams, but I see the Bucs as an old slower team. This could help us with our ground game, but not sure how Purdy handles a slick ball.

Don't forget about the pass rush. Tua was getting smashed on a ton of throws and he wasn't stepping into it like a boss like Jimmy does. He was doing to Baker Mayfield shy-away-from-contact thing on most throws.
Our defense eats up pocket passers for a living n they make it look easy Brady will be sacked 6 times book it's gonna be a wet raining day but I think we run the ball better
If its raining hard, then this week will be about protecting the football. I know Brock struggled with fumbles in college, so it will be something to watch.

And the thing with Brady way more so at this point of his career if he feels anyone is touching distance from him he will go down on his own quick

Weather forecast is for rain on Saturday and partly cloudy Sunday, at least that's what the local station said this morning
All I need to know is if Wirfs is still injured and out for this game?
