Will Purdy do it, probably not. But at least it's not immediately bailing on him after he played well in favor of Mayfield.

I don't think it would have hurt to have gotten Mayfield as a backup plan but if he couldn't get to the 49ers then the Rams were his second best destination. I think he'll do well in McVay's offense.

I agree Mayfield was probably the best option in a vacuum for backup. But I think at best, it's negligible whether he'd be an upgrade over completely unknown Purdy. And Purdy has been part of the team and seems to have a real feel for the position. If we bring in mayfield, the pressure from behind purdy would be large and a distraction. Ultimately winning a SB is about luck, timing, matchups, etc. I agree solely on what I've seen I'd rather have Purdy over mayfield. And bringing in mayfield becomes a competition. We need cohesion right now.
Brock Purdy coming out party, this sunday!

I can see the score being along those lines or it to be a nail bitter that's decided by a field goal. I'll take either, I just want the W.

This is a joke, right??????? 17-13 Patriots. Our bumblefluck arrogant head coach passes on another veteran qb (Mayfield) to stay with a rookie to lead this playoff caliber team. Mayfield looked fantastic in a good system, with his head on straight. When will York realize that Kyle's ego won't win a sb just a 500 team😕😕😕

Does someone else want to explain the waiver process and order?

Ok I will. His post is so uneducated. We literally couldn't have gotten Baker...

"There's no immediate word on how many other teams put in waiver claims for Mayfield, but the 3-9 Rams are currently third in the waiver order, so only the Bears and Texans — the two teams with worse records — could have gotten Mayfield once the Rams put in a claim."

i like that the people most critical of the HC dont even understand a simple process as the waiver wire
Whether run or pass, "all gas no brakes" should be the winning formula. No lead is safe when TB12 is in the game, as KS should well know.

I think the saying is "all gas, no breaks" as in there is no break time. 'No Brakes' seems out of control and dangerous.
Looks like Wirfs will be the only one not playing.

But "no brakes" fits the theme better than "no breaks". Yea, it's dangerous, but Robert Salah's a football coach, not a driving instructor.

I guess the saying could be changed to "all work, no breaks" or something along those lines to make it consistent.

Okay. My point is they need to keep pressing every advantage until 00.00, with Brady in the park, a 17 point lead is thin ice.

lol I was jk. Yes, what Brady just did on MNF is proof that no lead is safe. I don't think the 49er defense would brainfart like the LVR defense, but better safe than sorry. Continue to be aggressive so there is no chance of any Brady heroics.

His comeback was against the Saints and that defense is not bad at all. They gave up more points to Brady in the final 3 minutes than they gave up to us all game.

Oh whoops. The Raiders collapse still fresh in my head.

Not only with LVR, but with ATL when KS was OC.
Still no Nick at practice. Not ideal

Ah, the more rest, the better. If he has that groin/ hamstring, whatever, let him just rest. The guy sure doesn't need the practice. He just needs to get healthy, pretty hard to do when he is playing at full speed during the game. My hope is that this is what they are doing, letting him recuperate that pulled muscle. Just so long as he's out there when the game starts….and until it finishes..

I still think he plays. I just hope he doesn't look as bad as he did vs KC when he didn't practice during the week.
