Can't believe there are Purdy Haters lol

Well if you notice everyone talking about how season is over and all that there is a thru line.

Completely absurd.

It would solidify that we used too much draft capital for Lance

And would it create a QB competition next year?

Drew Bledsoe/ Tom Brady part deux

It should. You could see this year the team was not fond of forcing Trey into the starting role without earning it. If Purdy makes a deep playoff run, Trey would have to prove a better QB to take the starting role.

It is an interesting thing though. Here we are with a fresh new QB with really no reason to "hate" him, and yet some people already think there are haters. What that proves to me is people interpret criticism an/or skepticism as hate.

Gonna need to know where you got that from.
Where's the Brian Griese option?

JG will likely be back next year on a reduced / backup level contract. I doubt he sees stellar offers next year given his recovery timeline (if he has a Lisfranc injury as alluded to by Papa).

At a certain point, our front office will have had enough of Jimmy. That point was probably yesterday.

I cant see him back.

Some people are going to be instantly dismissive or overly critical of Purdy out of defensiveness over criticism of the former QB.

To be honest, it is at least 3 of them. I would be more interested in discussing what actions the team should take during the off season re quarterbacks. And should we try to bring in a vet like Baker? Should Lynch try to bring back Garoppolo next year? With the injury he might struggle to get a good offer from a good team.

Baker as a backup...sure.

JG will likely be back next year on a reduced / backup level contract. I doubt he sees stellar offers next year given his recovery timeline (if he has a Lisfranc injury as alluded to by Papa).

Hopefully Purdy plays well enough down the stretch (may be a pipe dream) to secure the QB2 role next year.

I see Lance as qb1 next year.

If Purdy continues to play like yesterday, and takes the team deep into the playoffs eg NFCC game, he might leap Trey and become QB1. I think Purdy is the type of quarterback Kyle wants; a pocket passer that can escape the pressure just to buy time to find a receiver.

it's a very small sample, but he looked more NFL ready yesterday than Trey has in his limited snaps as starter. I'm hoping Purdy works out bc I don't buy the Trey hype at all…

No way JG comes back. He's damaged goods at this point. Was limited with his arm, now he's a guaranteed injury waiting to happen every year. For him to come back as a backup, the team would have to make sure there is a bonified backup for him and that's not worth the headache.

This will have nothing to do with Lance as a QB. He will still need to prove he's worth those 3 first and a 3rd and that he can stay healthy when he gets a chance next year.

Posters shouldn't be critical or overly critical of Purdy as it has no bearing on how Lance should be viewed. This is Purdys time to write his own story.
