Who will be the 49ers starting QB in 2023?

Anybody but Trey is a massive failure
Where's Phoenix or English when you need one of them...

This is the type of THREAD that they should be deleting instead of mine..

It's obvious that the best QB should be leading the team..

Clearly Purdy is more ready to play because of his experience.

This thing is, the NFL scouts and coaches clearly don't see Purdy to have the potential to grow into a FQB, whatever that reason is (arm strength, height, mobility, accurate, etc, probably combination of these)

Doesn't mean the scouts and coaches can't be wrong. But I think over the last decade or so, scouts and coaches have gotten better in evaluating QBs. There are less and less QB who weren't drafted in the first round grow into a FQB.

Not sure how many QBs who weren't drafted in the top 4 rounds in the last decade become a franchise QB. I can't even name one off of my head.

Not in the last decade, but Brady would have to be the only one that I'm aware of. In recent memory that is. I'm sure, in NFL history, there are more. But you would have to travel back beyond my lifetime and the lifetime of others (many, many, many decades if you're interested) to get those answers.
Is this thread real? Is it April Fools day?
95% Lance (obvious reasons are obvious)
4% JG (has an amazing playoff run where he is a primary reason the team wins the Super Bowl)
1% Brock (he not only manages, but is integral to the team reaching / winning the NFCCG or Super Bowl)

Bingo. JG.
I hope that Purdy is the next Montana or Brady, but let's see how he progresses before crowning him. Mullens was undrafted and looked better in his debut and had a near perfect quarterback rating.

Trey is going to be QB1 unless he's still injured, or he isn't looking good in camp. Rodgers no way, because he is insanely expensive, and will cost a ton of picks that aren't available. Brady may be the exception. He will be 46 before the season starts, but he is good at avoiding contact. Jimmy G would likely need to win the Super Bowl to be on the team next year.
God these polls are dumb
Caleb Williams
probably the guy they spent 3 1st rounders on
