I think I felt it most as the first half came to a close. Purdy is moving the 49er offense. The TV pundits are claiming all he needs to do is not screw up, and the 49ers are in position for a field goal to end the half. And, then, BOOM! Purdy hits a WIDE OPEN Aiyuk for a TD. BOOM! 28-0 49ers. WHAT DID I JUST SEE???
I was shocked. I think my mouth was wide open. I couldn't believe it. There have been some good to great 49er QB's since Montana. And I don't want to get too excited because it's only been two games. But I have a feeling this kid could be something really, really special.
Let's just say he has some of those intangibles that the combine can't measure. All the stuff the measure and time at the combine is only half of what makes a great QB.
That was mostly due to KS calling a stop and go route instead of turtling up
Purdy pump fake helped to sell it
Both of Aiyuk's catches came on the same drive (the first catch was on a Swirl route, the other was the touchdown). Check out the similarities and we know why the CB totally bit on the 'Stutter Go'.
The Shanahan haters won't put two and two together here.
I noticed this right away. Bucs' #35 was the victim on both completions.
Absolutely great play calls no doubt
