1. 1981 season
2. 1984 season
3. 2022 Season - currently on a 7 game streak of 15 pts allowed a game

… if we can do this to Washington…. Then we will be in the right side of history 😈

7 game streak in this year is equal to probably more than 8 in those other seasons. Offensive league to say the least.

True, makes it even more impressive.

On the local postgame show last night, Donte Whitner said this is the best 49er defense ever. When asked to explain himself he mentioned how wide open offenses are and how the rules lean offense.

It's a solid point.

As much as I hate to say it - that's why I always had so much respect for the 2013 Seahawks defense. They hurt us bad but to be that dominant in this era? Very impressive.

That defensive TD that got called back sucked. I know Bosa said it was probably the right call and maybe it was based on the rules, but I rewatched it about 5 times and I don't know how he could have completed that play and not landed on top of the QB. That rule needs to be changed. If it's obvious that the defender is trying to drive him into the ground then it should be a penalty. That wasn't the case here. It was a good clean tackle. At the very least they should review calls like that. They review everything else.

Then we had a mossed FG which Gould usually makes. Cap it off with the run to the 1 yard line where they just killed the clock.

The final score here could have been 38-13.

It could have been 38-10 if Hufanga doesn't drop that INT near the goal line.

Could have been 10-7 Seattle at half if Diggs doesn't drop the INT. And that could have changed the complexion of the game. At the end, the common denominator is the refs SUCK. They cannot and should not make the game about them. Ridiculous calls on both sides slows the game down. It's the only sport where a ref can decide the outcome of the game and IF Seattle had won, there would have been some key calls we would be looking back on that decided the game for them.

pathetic

True. If all possible turnovers happened though, it would have been 5 against them and only 1 against us.

Refs do suck but I don't think it is all on them. Its probably part of their job description to try to keep primetime games close for ratings.
I think refs are just trained to be trigger-happy on potential roughing the passer situations

As much as I hate him now, Pete Carroll is a great coach. Learned it from the Walsh tree.

After watching last nights game I am convinced the NFL is rigged….. It happens way too often in Seattle especially when the Niners play there.

Glad we won but the officiating has really taken away the joy of the game and the moment……It's fast becoming a game I'm losing interest in.

The flags in the first half that stalled what would have otherwise been two scoring drives, the ridiculous roughing the passer call that nullified our pick 6 and a 28-3 lead, we always get screwed in Seattle with bad calls…. Can there really be that many bad refs in the league?

I feel as if I've finally had my moment of clarity, the officiating stinks because it is rigged.

I don't think they're outright rigging games with predetermined winners. That would be to difficult to do and keep quiet.

What I think they are doing is using the officials to influence how they want a game to go because of the amount of money that gambling and fantasy football generates, and tweaking the rules for that benefit.

Scoring points is what puts butts in seats, what drives fantasy football, and what gets people to put money down at sports books, all of which makes more money for the NFL.

It's why holding penalties aren't being called, why roughing the passer penalties are called like they are, etc.

A similar thing happened with MLB and it's steroid scandal, starting with the McGwire/Sosa home run chase thru the mid 00s. MLB, including then commissioner Bud Selig, and the owners knew those players were using steroids, but did nothing to stop it because it made them a ton of money.

Exactly. I've been saying this for years. I don't think the players are involved at all. It's the NFL, who knows where the gambling lines are and where the money is, manipulating scores and outcomes. I think this has become even more efficient with the "replay reviews from New York". It's quite simple. If you are an employee, and you mess up and make bad decisions at work week after week after week...you will eventually be disciplined and fired, right? Yet these refs aren't fined or penalized for their poor work performance. And if players or coaches complain about that performance, THEY get fined!!!! The NFL protects its own narrative that way.

Why the roughness call on Bosa? Can't have the game be a blow out and people stop watching in the third quarter of prime time. Too much ad revenue being risked that way. The good thing for us this year, is Purdy can be a very good storyline!! And the NFL loves good storylines...

Unintended consequences. The rule is phrased in a way that refs can call it on otherwise textbook form tackles. It's just another variation of what can happen when rules are changed, like how being able to challenge PI didn't go as they anticipated. They intend these rules to address the egregious incidents, but then they also lead to ticky-tacky rulings that don't actually accomplish what that intent was. This rule about body weight was to protect QBs from getting *unnecessarily* beyond the spirit of tackle football smashed, which is what injured Rodgers. It was never meant to make routine tackles illegal. Again, unintended consequences. They need to revise the language to allow the refs to let these normal tackle plays happen as the game always designed while still eliminating the unnecessary egregious ones the rule was meant to counter.
This was so gansta.

Yeah, don't you love it how DrEII conveniently left out we dropped two interceptions one of which would've been a pick six. Not to mention the pick six we got called back by a b******t roughing quarterback call so the game would've been more like 38 to 3 so let's not play that stupid game without being unbias

This kind of team chemistry is real and cant be faked.

Trent Williams is 34 years old and a lock for the HOF
If the grizzled old vet is feeling this way you know how special the team is feeling right now.

I knew I saw the old school 49ers run that play. I thought it was Montana, but it was Young. Awesome find!
