Because the offense was so boring with Jimmy
Jimmy's 4TD game in Mexico City says hi to your recency bias.
Only 16 combined points in his last two starts with all of our weapons playing.
Bruh you must be trolling to count a single drive against Miami as a "start." It might technically be a start, but that's quite the assumption that the 49ers would have only scored 3 points had Jimmy not gone down so early.
The offense did not look good while Jimmy was playing in that game, a week after only putting up 13 points against NO. It is what it is. 16 combined points in his last two starts. 56 points in two starts with Purdy.
He threw 4 passes. Come on now.
Lance doesn't get that consideration.
I'm right there with you. I just don't see the logic in extrapolating Jimmy's 4 pass performance into a full game... just like I don't assume Trey season would've been a failure based on 5 quarters this year. It's not fair to either player.
Saying Jimmy scored 16 points in two weeks is intentionally misleading IMO. Just like it would be to make definitive statements about how Lance would've played if not for the injury,.I just don't think its necessary to frame criticisms that way for either QB.
We should all be excited for Brock that he's proving to be quality player but more importantly I want to learn something from this situation, about the team and Kyle's offense, instead of making up hypotheticals about both injured QBs
