SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS at SEATTLE SEAHAWKS - 2022 Game 14

So because the game is in Seattle, they are all the sudden going to stifle our run game? We put up 181 yards on the ground in week 2 with Wilson at RB. They have been getting gashed for like 200 yards per game over the last 4-5 games. What are they going to do to us that they haven't be able to do to anyone else so far this season? Are they going to put 10 in the box?

Now that one's pretty good! I'm so sick of the "Purdy good" comments all over the place.

I took a listen to Richard Sherman's podcast and he said Pete should get back to basics and play Cover3, 8 in the box, to defend the run. He said the Quarters stuff they've been doing, 7 in box, is not working, and to at least take away the run (cover3) then take their chances on the pass.

How is their pass rush. Can they get home consistently with 4?

My guess is it's not very good. I think Sherman's logic was it might be better to take their chances with a rookie QB beating them, rather than have their will broken by giving up another 200+ on the ground.
I really hate this team. No matter how bad they are, they become a Super Bowl team when they play us. I'm worried about ankles and knees this game because they always take out one of our big players.

So they can't stop the run and cannot rush the passer. Nor can they run the ball and Geno is getting sacked on 7.0% of his dropbacks (which is fairly high). I am just not sure what folks are so worried about. Could it just be lingering PTSD?

It's a division rivalry against a team that tends to over-perform against SF, especially when the on-paper matchup predicts otherwise. They have a lot of potential and showed signs of putting things together earlier in the season. Rookie quarterback nursing an injury in a very hostile environment. Any given Sunday, it's why they play the game, and so on.

Edit: I think they are a running threat with Walker back in the lineup, and their passing game can be highly effective at times. I'm confident in the SF defense, but not so confident that I'm assuming a shutout.

I keep saying, expect the unexpected.

Expected - we should be able to run all over them and control the clock.

Yeah I'm always hesitant and not expecting to blow them up in Seattle. I can't recall the last time the Niners dominated them up there.
Go Niners Go!!!!
