Watch the Vikings luck themselves into the #1 seed LOL

Well, they would need to win two and have PHL lose two. If they tie, the Eagles get it as having beat them earlier this year. So possible, yes; probably, eh not sure

I think us getting that #2 seed is more likely. Hopefully GB beats MIN next week.

we can also get the 2 seed if the above scenario played out. Eagles would drop to 3 seed.

Possibility they lose the division to Dallas....

Could Dallas get the 1 seed ? Or would winning the division drop them to 3, making us two seed and Minn one seed ?

Depends on what Minnesota does in its last two games. They've lost to Dallas and Philadelphia, and SF has a better conference record than Minnesota or Dallas.

division record precedes conference record in playoff tiebreakers between two teams. Niners would be undefeated in the NFC West if they win out.

I think if DAL and SF end up at 13-4, which is really what DAL needs to be to win the East, then our conference record is better so we should be seeded higher.

Correctomundo.

Not sure about the game times but if some of those games are 10am games and decided by our kickoff, we have to consider resting starters. Walsh did it every year knowing that preserving players in week 17 was a key to the playoffs.

lol Bill Walsh retired from the Niners before the BYE week concept was introduced.

It's about resting during the final week of the season. Nothing to do with the bye week.

just pointing out that there was no WEEK 17 in Walsh's coaching tenure.

No WEEK 17 and Bill Walsh NEVER sat starters. Ever. He did not rest them. Starters did not play if they were nursing injuries. But that was the only reason.

That only counts if the tied teams are from the same division - otherwise it's conference record for seeding purposes.

I didn't think that was the case for non-divisional teams.
Still so many scenarios with the #6/#7 and #2/#3. And, even if SF is the #3, they could still end up hosting the #4/#5 winner if Minnesota loses in the wild card round. SF's conference record right now (9-2) helps them in all the tie-breakers. One blessing for losses to the Bears and Falcons.

Minnesota May be luckiest late scoring team in history
The 1 seed is surprisingly more likely after this week even though we didn't move to the second seed. Haha

This is not correct. I believe the year we won the Super Bowl, the last one with Montana we had a 10-6 record, we sat starters the last week and got destroyed by the Rams that last regular season game.
All that mattered is we won the SuperBowl.

Shanny said the first Kittle TD was called to go to Ray Ray, Kittle was supposed to go more to the corner then the post.

IT did look like that on the replay... you can tell that RayRay was the DEEP POST target and that Kittle just happened to be at the right place at the right time..

but.. TDs a TD !!!
