SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS vs WASHINGTON COMMANDERS - 2022 Game 15

Oddly, their average margin of victory during those 2 streaks was exactly the same. 16.6 points per game. They had a shutout in each streak as well. The 2019 team had 2 games of 4 points or less. This year the closest game has been 6 points.

We are more dominant overall as a team this time around. Jimmy was just coming back from torn ACL. We were just a
Younger team finding our identity and the games were closer.

even the 6 point margin victory game this year wasn't as close as the score suggests.

irs so cool we've experienced it twice in the last few seasons because a lot of teams don't get to 8 game win streaks

I agree that this is a better team. That 2019 streak was at the beginning of the year and some of those teams weren't very good. Once the streak was broken they went 5-3 down the stretch.

This team has better offensive weapons and is better overall on defense. The D line may not be quite as good ( with the exception of Bosa) but the LBs are better. Kyle is more experienced as a HC too.

I will also add that no one was coming for us so to speak, or saw us coming. This team however, even at our weakest, no one overlooked us. We have established stars that every coordinator game plans for. No nearly the case at the start of 2019.
Jordan Willis coming out of that pile with the fumble after like 5 Commanders were trying to pry it away from him at the same time is one of the most impressive things I've seen in an NFL game.

Even more ridiculous is KS shuts it down at 40 anyways - would never go for 50

Totally. Then we had the OZ feasting. Now it's CMC. I heard a podcast the other day that noted in one of the seasons, Kittle and Deebo were only on the field for like 4 plays together. This year, our health + CMC has been huge.

The biggest difference is QB play. Brock plays like a real QB. Jimmy plays with hesitation. You can see it in the box scores…
The "stolen" touchdown

We are running a Mils concept to the right side, the same play that beat us in Tyreek Hill's touchdown at Miami's game, unless this time is against cover 3. Ray-Ray is running a deep post and Kittle (possible) was supposed to run an in route or something like that. The idea is to vertically stretch the middle of the field safety with these routes.

Purdy looks left first, both hitch routes are covered by the underneath zone defenders. There is a tight window to Jennings, tough. But in the middle of the field, the safety is completely lost. He didn't gain depth and left the middle of the field opened. Kittle's route probably was going right where the safety was sitting. He realized that and charged directly up field, where the safety was supposed to be. At this exact moment, the safety saw Kittle passing by and realized he made a terrible mistake

When the safety managed to turn his hips up field is too late, Kittle is already about five yards away. We can see Kittle looking back, almost saying "look at me, I'm free". At the same time, Ray-Ray broke his post route and also got separation from the 1/3 corner with outside leverage. Purdy is starting the throwing motion at this exact moment.

At the end of the play, both players were in position to catch the ball. Post route worked as designed and Kittle improvised after a huge mistake by the safety. We beat them twice at the same play!

Agreed. It was supposed to be Mills and the middle safety busted. The pass would have been on the money to RayRay too. RayRay should have "Moss'ed" Kittle .
Kittle's kind of a dick for that one.

For real.

But I've heard Kittle say even this year, there were times he and Jimmy weren't on the same page and I remember thinking, "How can that be with so much time together in this system?"

Maybe this is why...Kittle either freelances or is given that freedom to do so.

You'd think with how calculated Kyle is, he wouldn't allow this. How many times have we seen two dudes in the same area this year?
