Better to get this stinker of a defensive performance out of the way before the playoffs.

Wasnt an ugly win tho. Simply a hard fought game.

Yeah it wasn't like we were making a ton of mistakes like penalties and turnovers. We were just getting the best from a Motivated unknown QB throwing to some really talented Receivers that fought hard when they could of easily folded after the Carr benching.
I'm just happy that we have Gipson catching pick's back there. Imagine if that was Tartt trying to catch that pick today?

Niners don't win with Jimmy G back there today. There I said it. And I'll say it again too.

You are 100% correct

Correct. This all day long. Jimmy can't handle the pressure of having a game depending on his arm. And someone needs to talk to Gould. We can't have him give away a game like that.

Blind hate makes you say some of the dumbest things.

Very sure. Jimmy G gets sacked 5 times today.

How do you know for "very sure", Jimmy goes for the quick pass most of the time. Anyway arguing this is pointless.

Ugly for the defense, but in their defense, a lot of them were still a little drunk from the NYE celebrations the night before. It's a little more excusable when you consider that.

The defense made some solid plays as well, however. I dont think we have the "lockdown" defense people think we have. We have a more of a "Full 60 minutes" defense. I I mean, we've given up big plays all year,..even vs. teams we thumped. There are certainly liabilities in coverage, and we will surely need both sides of the ball come playoff time.

The advantage we had with the "unknown" of Purdy....well, the Raiders had that today with their surprise starter.

If we dont have much of a hiccup in the playoffs, it'll be because we are more of a complete team.

Oh you mean like the come back win vs New Orleans where he hit Kittle on 4th down. How about the comeback win vs the Rams in week 18??

Lemme guess you only became a 49er fan this year?? Smfh

It was lockdown until EMan went down. Lenoir is a huge liability, and it's compounded by a safety who plays more to hit hard than for proper coverage. Lenoir and Huff are our biggest weaknesses….
Just coming here to say this was a fantastically entertaining game. Had family over for a New Years lunch spread and we had a lot of fun cheering for the niners.

While I was surprised at the D breakdowns I knew it was an any given Sunday scenario. Glad the Raiders played the way they did.

In the playoffs every team we will face is capable of dropping 30 on this D, so we'd best get used to seeing how we'd respond in all facets, for 60 minutes of football.

Told the family before the game this is a dress rehearsal super bowl party.
I still absolutely believe that now.

100% sure Jimmy would have lost us the game today. His happy feet and inability to avoid sacks would have cost us the game. I applaud the raiders for shelving carr. We should have moved on from jimmy long ago.

Oh, I see we have some soothsayers in this thread as well. Great. What is the stock market going to do tomorrow? Maybe I should take some money out. Who's going to win the Super Bowl this year, I'd like to get my bet down early and avoid the rush. As I pointed out in another thread, you can't change the most important offensive player on the field, i.e. a QB, not specifically Jimmy, and have any realistic expectation that the game would play out in exactly the same way as it did with Brock under center, or Lance for that matter. Maybe they would have lost by a big margin. Maybe they would have won going away. Maybe they would have won or lost in regulation. You cannot KNOW something that is unprovable no matter what side of the story you're looking at it from.

Jimmy's quick passes would get Kittle or Deebo killed bc they were always high AF and he could never catch them in stride.

BCB can make tight window throws and also looks downfield. There's a reason why Kittle and Aiyuk's production is up since BCB has come in…because he looks downfield and is willing to take those shots.

Plus I'll take untested BCB in the playoffs vs Jimmy G in the playoffs. Jimmy's playoff numbers suck butt.
So I guess we don't know the schedule for next week yet?

I would assume the Philly Game will get scheduled to be the same time as our game.

I understand new fans not knowing about Kittle breaking the TE record with Jimmy.

He broke it with Mullens.
