SF 49ERS vs Seahawks Pregame thread - 2022 Wild Card Round

Multi-level play at defence is causing some of that opposition confusion and poor execution though.

QB vs 49ers has Bosa, 54 and 57, and DeMeco on his mind every play. Plus our secondary, while weak, is also unpredictable as f*k. 29 is liable to do anything at any point in time.

We give QB's a lot of extra stuff to process.

i love the confidence here on the zone, and im confident too. but if were being realistic the majority of the fanbase should be worried about this game. too many dudes in here think this is gonna be a walk in the park.

our team played like garbage against the raiders and basically the first half of against the cardinals. and what pulled us out of the hole agaisnt the cardinals was some terrible passes right to our DBs by their QB. gift turnovers. playoff QBs will not gift us turnovers like that most likely, not even geno smith. without those 2 gift turnovers against the cardinals we were looking at a much closer game. against a far inferior team who was sitting their best 3 players. that shouldnt have been a close game that should have been a blowout without the turn overs. as we saw on the 2nd play of the game the league knows where our weakness is an they will target it. the pass rush has not been able to get home lately and that leaves our young DBs 1v1 deep down the field. lockett an metcalf are capable of blowing us up. im not sure why they think sitting drake jackson so much is a good idea, we need that dude on the other edge.

we are the better team this saturday but this year is the story of the 49ers playing down to their opponents to give them a chance. we play bad against worst teams, and better against good teams. i dont get it.

we are by far the better team in this matchup an should win, but in order for us to play up to our potential an play them like we should its going to take a week or prep/practice and game performance on saturday that has been different than the last 2 weeks. if we go out there with the preparation an performance of the last two weeks we may be playing our last game of the year.

Outside of any given Sunday...why?

Also...what are you talking about u playing down to opponents all year long? I'm pretty sure we led the NFL in most games won by double digit scores. Seems to me like you're concentrating on a handful of games when we did that and those games were early in the season when this team was very different.

We've been a completely different team since adding McCaffrey and have 2 games worth of sample size against the Seahawks. We have given up 20 points total to them in 2 games. 7 points were a result of a blocked FG attempt. We scored 48 against them and that includes us kneeling to end the game on their 2 yard line in Seattle.

This is a playoff game vs a division rival, not a somewhat meaningless game vs a backup QB where we may feel a bit overconfident. The team knows what happens if you go into a playoff game half assed. Regardless of them being a heavy favorite I just can't see them coming out flat.

Anything can happen but there is absolutely no reason to worry going into the game outside of any given X the other team can win.

Yeah, but our run defense is the strength, and check out Geno's last 4 games. They're really bad. As a team they're averaging 16 PPG over their last 4.

I'm sure it's been mentioned, but I haven't read through all of the pages. Last game vs. the Seahawks easily could've been +14 more points for us. The BS roughing the passer pick 6, and then we ran out the clock on the 1 at the end of the game. Add those in and the score is almost identical to the blowout vs. AZ a couple days ago.

Dear God, please let this be the year our beloved 49ers win the Super Bowl. And bless Brock Purdy keep him safe and help him to become the next Joe Montana, no not Tom Brady I said Joe Montana.

And what about the defense, don't worry about them cause they're raising hell!!!

Amen.

Just hope it turns out like last week when rain was predicted and then it was clear for the game.

National media continue to do us like this it's been this way since forever just cuz we are from SF and not the east coast you can see the bias
Uh, the one being overlooked here is how excited and fired up the 49ers are. They are going to come out firing heavy shots and bullying the Seahawks for 60 minutes. Seattle will make it a game for a while but eventually crumble as the weaknesses are exposed. Can't wait...heavy rain bring it on.
