This is gonna be a mansoon like the Colts game last year. This does not bode well for us at all, especially with a young QB and a desperate Seahawks team that might decide to throw up prayers to Metcalf and Lockett.

I just felt something drop in the pit of my stomach
I'm thinking, well, they have to play in the rain too. I hear you though, rain can be the great equalizer.
That Colts game was weird, and this time we don't have Jimmy 2 picks. Kyle's Niners are monsters in the playoffs. They've shown up every game, including the two narrow losses. The last few times seattle was in the dance, they play crap football. I think SF man-handles SEA, whatever weather.

I don't think Seattle matches up with us at all. I think the Niners are pretty dominant over them in every facet of the game. But the weather is definitely the great neutralizer. Put it this way. We know they're not running on us. We have the best run D in the league. But now vs their poor run D CMC and Mitchell won't be able to make their cuts or get the footing to take it to the next level. This is a huge advantage for them.

With our passing game, Kyle plays a very slow, methodical, YAC heavy offense. The weather again will make it tough for our guys on slants and quick outs. Meanwhile Carroll is gonna run verticals with Metcalf and Lockett and tell Geno to air it out. Against Lenoir no less.

s**t s**t s**t !!!

I'm not an expert, but aren't you getting this backwards? I thought rain was supposed to help running games but hurt passing games…

Ivery heard the rain. Is hard on dbs who have to make cuts.
Heavy rain is just gonna muck the game up so we have to dial in and focus.
Although the rain should help our run game and defense most likely, most of the time rain games are low scoring which I don't like because we should be blowing this team out. The rain helping it keep it low scoring and them being in a 1-2 score game definitely favors Seattle side in where they still have a chance.
Just keep the field covered up all week and we'll be fine enough hopefully

I agree. The rain is going to benefit the Seahawks overall. I don't think it's nearly enough for them to get the win though. We just have to play run the ball and play sound defense. At some point the Seahawks will turn the ball over.
The weather factor basically makes this game a complete toss up. Risk of fumbling Is all the way up.

Hopefully the team put an extra emphasis on ball security this week. Gonna be a wet one!

Where is that clip of the 9er players belly sliding on the wet field? Lol

Oh yes here we go

And gotta watch for Geno scrambling and get cheap yards. He's deceptively fast as hell and can pick up cheap first downs with his legs which is very helpful in a bad weather game
I'll confess I'm suppressing visions of Anthony Carter and Wade Wilson crushing my soul on a soggy January day in 1988.
BUT, I just don't see it happening Saturday. Niners are superior in all three phases and coaching is maybe a draw.

Levi's ain't the Stick. I believe the field will hold up well and the running game will dominate as usual.

Supposedly the Levi's field drains well - and should be covered mostly until game day. Footing should be ok.
