i love the confidence here on the zone, and im confident too. but if were being realistic the majority of the fanbase should be worried about this game. too many dudes in here think this is gonna be a walk in the park.
our team played like garbage against the raiders and basically the first half of against the cardinals. and what pulled us out of the hole agaisnt the cardinals was some terrible passes right to our DBs by their QB. gift turnovers. playoff QBs will not gift us turnovers like that most likely, not even geno smith. without those 2 gift turnovers against the cardinals we were looking at a much closer game. against a far inferior team who was sitting their best 3 players. that shouldnt have been a close game that should have been a blowout without the turn overs. as we saw on the 2nd play of the game the league knows where our weakness is an they will target it. the pass rush has not been able to get home lately and that leaves our young DBs 1v1 deep down the field. lockett an metcalf are capable of blowing us up. im not sure why they think sitting drake jackson so much is a good idea, we need that dude on the other edge.
we are the better team this saturday but this year is the story of the 49ers playing down to their opponents to give them a chance. we play bad against worst teams, and better against good teams. i dont get it.
we are by far the better team in this matchup an should win, but in order for us to play up to our potential an play them like we should its going to take a week or prep/practice and game performance on saturday that has been different than the last 2 weeks. if we go out there with the preparation an performance of the last two weeks we may be playing our last game of the year.
Outside of any given Sunday...why?
Also...what are you talking about u playing down to opponents all year long? I'm pretty sure we led the NFL in most games won by double digit scores. Seems to me like you're concentrating on a handful of games when we did that and those games were early in the season when this team was very different.
We've been a completely different team since adding McCaffrey and have 2 games worth of sample size against the Seahawks. We have given up 20 points total to them in 2 games. 7 points were a result of a blocked FG attempt. We scored 48 against them and that includes us kneeling to end the game on their 2 yard line in Seattle.
This is a playoff game vs a division rival, not a somewhat meaningless game vs a backup QB where we may feel a bit overconfident. The team knows what happens if you go into a playoff game half assed. Regardless of them being a heavy favorite I just can't see them coming out flat.
Anything can happen but there is absolutely no reason to worry going into the game outside of any given X the other team can win.
this is the playoffs. pete carroll is a good coach. seattle will be prepared. we are the better team an should win but crazier things have happend. remember the falcons, bears an raiders game this year. if we come ready an dont "overlook" our opponent we should work them. if the team acts this week like we got a walk in the park prepare for a long saturday.
its gonna be raining good and they got a good RB. run D will be important this game, hopefully we get big play dre back.
bring our A game, run the ball well and come out with no injuries. im speaking it into existence.
