It absolutely is, content wise.

Format wise it's archaic and rudimentary. Kinda like the Geocities of forums. For this reason, and performance--I'd be on board with a mass exodus if the community could remain intact.

I doubt very many come here for the articles .

I meant content from members. edit: I've been a member of online forums for decades, so to me--the members are the show. They're the reason I'm here.

Some people put a ton of effort into their posts and have volumes of football knowledge they share.

I don't have time to educate myself to that level so I rely on the wide-ranging opinions and observations from people who know more. Pretty much everything I know, above the basics, I learned here.

All the news aggregation is appreciated for sure, but I end up getting all the links from various sources anyhow.

I come here to talk to the members, not the articles.

I've seen forums pull a mass exodus to a new forum (the whole NeoGAF/ResetERA was insane how quickly it was pulled off).

It's not an easy thing to do, and it takes a lot of time and effort to ensure everything goes 100% smoothly.

I've been here since 2005, and I'd hate to see this account go away (pretty sure this is my oldest active account I still use).

That might be the unicorn, though, lol.

I've seen simple server migrations cripple huge forums...vBulletin upgrades cause losses of members so significant the board has to shut down...corrupted data destroy the provenance of a site...you name it.

I've even seen a forum sold to an investor with hopes of monetizing the user base and when unsuccessful--deleted everything but the index tree out of spite. Millions of posts, guides, journals, educational graphics eradicated...many survived by being shared elsewhere due to the critical utility they provided, but almost everything is...gone.

The webzone is kind of a rock and hard place from my perspective. It's the best place for 9ers discussion without a close 2nd, though, so I'm here. And I'll be here.

Its only during games when the server is overloaded with people trying to post.

Just need a more modern ability to view post history, and the option for members to be temporarily banned from specific threads.

Also if someone is allowed to change their username, their previous usernames should be listed on their profile.

If our offense can play like how these forums was this past Sunday, we'll be looking good in Philly.
