OK stop raining now in Santa Clara. I don't like this at all. I don't trust a wet ball and a wet field. Games like that are unpredictable. I would much rather have a clean game. Which we will win.

Let's put this rain vs no rain debate to rest. As above clearly minimal to no rain leading up to gametime. Then approximately 50% chance throughout the game but mostly less than <.05 inch which means it's a drizzle at best. If the field remains tarped and has good drainage as we're told, this should not affect us today.
GAME !
….btw this is the weather forecast at Levi's Stadium on the weather channel.

Yeah depending on the app your checking. Weather.com says it small chance of rain in the 1st qt but beyond the rain chance increases alot.

If you are not in the SF Bay area stop freaking out
The monsoon fire hose rain is over
The rain we will see the rest of the day is just a light drizzle

That's not that much. That's also in 24 hours. Not 3 hours and 20 minutes for a game. So not too bad. A little lite rain maybe during some portions of the game. Maybe we get lucky and it stays mostly dry for the game. It can rain after if it wants to.

As long as the grass doesn't come out in big chunks, we should be fine.

I don't know if a wet field really gives one team an advantage over the other. Same as cold weather. Players on NFL teams come from all over the country and during their career they play in every weather condition.
What concerns me about bad weather games are turnovers. The ball can slip out of the QBs hand and get intercepted. Ball carriers can fumble easier. They can slip while trying to make a cut. Pass rushers can have a harder time doing thier moves to get to the QB. Kicks can get missed easier.
None of these things favor one team over the other but I hate to see games decided by stuff like that. All of the things I mentioned can happen on a dry field in good weather but they are more likely to happen in poor weather. Let's hope the Niners don't lose the game because of a couple of turnovers caused by the elements.
