the Niners are expected to blow out the Seahawks on paper and weather notwithstanding. this is why we're the first game.
We also earned the short week home field advantage as the highest seed this wildcard round. Ratings are considered but it was always gonna be a Saturday contest
Now the early slot is because of the high propensity it's a blowout. Remember we were one seed in 2019 and it was a Saturday NIGHT game so as to advantage us but yet still keep rehearsal marquee game between GB and SF in the prime time slot to maximize eyeballs on the game

Lower seeds go Monday to give the top seed the advantage of facing the winner off a short week
Same reason we as the two seed got SEA off a short week for a Saturday contest
Jaguars 4 seed. Chargers 5 seed. = Saturday game.
Bucs 4 seed. Cowboys 5 seed. = MNF.
Make it make sense?
It's ratings. There's no science to it. It's why they kept the Dallas Indy game on Sunday night football a few weeks ago and kept the Niners Dolphins game at 4pm despite our game being a MUCH BETTER match to watch.
The NFL is all about making money and a Cowboys Brady matchup is the easiest draw for high ratings and $$$. Unfortunately disadvantage to the winner of that game because they will only have 6 days to prep for the division matchup…

I believe if we played GB we would have played tonight instead of this afternoon

Tyler Lockett:
""It's like nobody expects us to win outside of our building," receiver Tyler Lockett said.
Nos**t sherlock - you have a f**king s**tty team
"We believe that we can win, but nobody else does.
Well boohoohoo good for you
Nobody thought that we would be able to do any of the things that we were able to do (this season).
What exactly did you do that was so "amazing"?
Everybody was shocked that we even got into the playoffs.
Actually not really since the NFL introduced the 7th seed.
I mean, for us it's like, man, we're just going to go out there and just play free. … We're just going to play like we've got nothing to lose."
Never heard this response before *rolls eyes*

The days I believe seeding is considered but time slot more so for ratings. These owners are about money first and competitive balance second

As well he should feel this way. Thing is we haven't put all this work in just to piss it away when we're in the ideal situation we've earned and lose either
We shall gather his thoughts once the contest is over

Doubtful bc GB played SNF so they would've probably given us the Sunday Night slot instead…again ratings purposes but also to give GB adequate time to prep…

This advantages us if we win because we get the Saturday contest vs a short week opponent and then if we win we get 8 days for the NFCCG assuming we advance that far
PHI is not locked into playing sunday. the WC winners will dictate that. if the NYG win, SF will have to play the winner of DAL @ TB on sunday. PHI would likely play NYG on saturday if the NFL is splitting conference games on sat and sun.

No earlier it was predicted that rain would pickup later in the game by 5-6pm. Now it's a more steady minimal rain until 7pm forecast…

That seems like a terrible disadvantage. It's really unfair. I guess it is all ratings. IMO it should be a reward system. Like 2 seed gets the Saturday game. Like we got this year by chance apparently. But we should deserve at. Because as a #2 we earned the right to 8 days rest should we win. I think you should have some advantage for that. Disadvantage for the lower seed. 6 days to rest. It should be earned and deserved if they are going to do it. But I generally feel MNF is an awful idea for the playoffs. Just so unfair.
