Geno is fine for now, their offense was not the issue this year. Bmv is right though. They are the team we should fear the most. I wouldn't be surprised if they trade down as well, they will have a lot of ammo to replenish their defense. And they do have a couple solid young defensive players.

The guy that made them tough for all those years was Wilson. 49ers rarely had trouble playing them close, even when they were at their best, it was Wilson pulling some crazy play out of his ass that made them some incredibly difficult to beat. Geno ain't that guy. I hope they pay him lots of money.

I remember one play, I believe second half, Geno escaped the pocket and bought himself a lot of time - I had flashbacks of Russel for a quick second - Geno threw it away out of bounds.

Ya gonna be interesting what they pay Geno. But I was more responding to the previous poster who asked which three teams will be the most competitive going forward. Hard to argue about Seattle being that team for now. But definitely don't think they will be as good as they were in the past.

Even with Geno I don't expect Seattle to be what they before in 2012-13. If the 49ers keep the team intact with the addition of Moseley back, I expect the 9ers to own the NFCW for a while.

Geno is a really good game manager but nothing more. He's very Alex smith Esque - needs everything to go well and the team to make no mistakes, because they can't make it up against the good teams. Sure they'll get better but I also think Geno is going to have a hard time repeating the same success.

im not worried about them like I was when Wilson was there but they'll be a thorn in our side.

Totally agree. Which is why I think the 9ers should own the NFCW for at least the next three seasons.

Kyler Murray is a train wreck coming off of injury.

Matt Stafford has age and coming off of injury, he can't beat the 9ers unless the refs help him out.

Geno Smith, nothing special about him. I'd say he's Seattles QB for at least one more season.
It was absolutely electric inside Levi's yesterday. I love playoff football

Seattle is in great shape. They have a ton of picks and I would expect one of their top two picks will be QB. Plus free agency. I can't stand them but it would be a mistake to not mention they are in excellent shape to compete with anyone in the West if they draft and handle their FA business. Damn they have some great draft positions coming up.

Now for the obvious. f**k the Hags.

Most definitely. I've been to a few games in Levis and it was good but nothing compared to yesterday. Fantastic experience.

I know it rained a little but it wasn't the atmospheric river they were predicting. The field was in great shape and I saw no signs that players were having problems with footing. I remember how much trouble they had with the field at Levis when they first opened.

I think it's safe to say we have the best field in the entire league

I've heard mixed reports regarding whether Purdy's misses in the first half were attributable to the weather. Other than that, conditions looked great for football.

Lol we used to trash it the first season or two. The entire stadium kind of gets a bad rep. I actually really like Levis.

I think I heard that first throw where he missed completely was probably due to the weather and a wet ball.

The one where he almost threw a pick on the Goal line looked like he just didn't see the LB and was a bad decision.

Happy he overcame these early issues and played fantastic in the second half.

I'm happy for all the young fans that are getting to experience the vibes at a playoff game. I was fortunate to have had season tickets for the entire Niners glory era and those playoff games really took the excitement to another level. The Stick wasn't a particularly loud environment due to the way it was built but if you sat under the upper deck like I did. the sound could get deafening since it would bounce off the back wall and the underside of the upper deck. The open side with the rollout seats wasn't as loud. I often left games with my ears ringing and a sore throat from yelling.
Seahawks could be pretty solid for a while under Geno if they can shore up their defense, but they are unlikely to win it all unless they get a better QB. That's the simple reality.

However, another factor for them is that Carroll is 71. How many years does he truly have left as HC? My Dad at 73 was still fairly spry and super attentive, but within the year after that he truly aged and got "old", with all the clichés of being more frail, lower key energy, etc. In his case it is Parkinson's (he's still doing well at 76), but my point is it can seemingly happen on a dime.

Carroll may well coach until he's 80. I just think that's unlikely.

I can still recall Vin Scully's call on the CBS Broadcast in the epic '81 NFCCG........"It's a Madhouse at Candlestick.....with 51 seconds left!"

Some free stickers handed out at the game
