Yes, I'm a Dallas fan yeah. Most Dallas fans however were livid about that play though largely directed at Dak although they don't like McCarthy either (in fact, about 50% of Dallas fans seem to loathe everyone and everything about the team; I guess the last 25 years will do that).

Anyways, I don't think the idea behind the play is that bad. The chances of getting a TD from the 41 yard line are far lower then from the 24 yard line and the element of surprise helped that play be successful. They just needed to execute better which is often the case when fans deride one playcall or another. There was a legitimate reason to try that play but it didn't work so people laugh at it now.

Thanks for showing up here Velious. Interesting to get takes and viewpoints from opposing teams's fans. Also interesting that Dallas fans are still the only people I've met or heard who would defend that playcall.

I did write that I thought McCarthy did stupid things and then acted like everyone else had the problem and I think he would agree with your statement above. So strange to me.

I'll stop dragging out this beaten dead horse but if Dallas wins I'll come back here and give McCarthy an upgrade to "good coach" as much as it would pain me. Sound fair?

Great 49ers gift ideas

A modest house mortgage, completely absurd when you think of it that way.
DAL has a few weapons that need to be contained..Pollard, Parsons, Ceedee. They got some good players that move well. Gotta bring the A game. Need to put pressure on Dak and do it quick & effectively. Throw him off his horse lol. D needs to bring it big.

Also they better not sleep on Gallup or Schultz they're both very good and merit special game planning attention.
Short week, going from Dallas out to Miami, then back to Dallas and all the way out to SF. They're going to be exhausted by the 3rd quarter.

Remember last year we were up big on them in Dallas, but had so many injuries that we limped to the finish line. This year were a better team, 100% healthy, and at home. If they couldn't beat us last year they're going to struggle to do any better this time around.
How many times has Dak come up big in a Playoff game? I count Zero, and he's been around a while.

He's thrown a lot of picks this year.

Lots of cockiness around here. Confidence is good, but this is the playoffs and all teams are good to get to this point. I'd say (much though it pains me) that, kicking aside, Dallas has been the most comfortable of all teams that got to the divisionals. We let Seattle hang about for almost 3 full quarters. The margins are now much tighter. Sure, we're more talented - on paper. Sure, we're at home. Sure, we have two more days of rest. But now we must execute, not leave points on the field, not have stupid penalties. This is a very dangerous team we're playing in Dallas, and an even more dangerous one in the officials. I don't believe they favour this or the other team (if they did, they would have given Dallas one more snap last year). They're just bad to begin with, and then they get saddled with terrible rules like roughing the passer, pass interference and what-is-a-catch that are unclear and put them into such stress that they get even worse. The team must execute, and take its chances when it gets them. Be boring and professional about it. Build a lead. Bleed the clock. Be unexciting. Don't look down on Dallas. Yes, their fans are annoying, but so are many fans of many teams (I get particularly annoyed with the entitled attitude of Boston fans for instance). I suspect we're also seen as entitled pricks by other fanbases (and actually, we are). Yes, their owner is especially annoying. Our owners are the Yorks! Pot and kettle situation if you ask me. I can't actually say bad things about their players - if anything some seem rather likeable, which is annoying since I hate the Cowboys.

Let's be a bit less cocky. This is a dangerous game. It's a bleeding playoff game. It will be decided on the details. Let's get those right and crow about it on Monday.

Are you under the impression that fans on a message board have a tangible impact on the game?
No, but they have a tangible impact on my stomach acid levels during the game.

Man, you're saying I can wash my lucky jersey finally and it won't affect the outcome of the game?

Like I said before, every team left is cocky that their team is going to win. I wouldn't want it any other way.
