That wide run action where we play fake get the D flowing run side Brock keeps and sets up deep in the pocket those are the plays I look forward to as well. Throw it deep young man.
This is the way.
If I was the Cowboys, and knowing how they got road graded for 169 yards on the ground in last year's loss to the 49ers. I'll be focused on stopping the 49er run and putting the pressure on Purdy to beat the Cowboys. I think this can be a blowout if Purdy hits on a couple of long explosive passes and goes up by two touchdowns.
I know Lombardi and others have said the pass rush is not as good as 2019, but I disagree. The 2019 pass rush got 48 sacks, the 2022 pass rush is 44 sacks, but the 2022 defense generated more interceptions (+ 7) and more forced fumbles (+ 7) as compared to the 2019 defense. In other words, they may have gotten less sacks - but the quality of the sacks generated (Possibly) is a higher kind of quality of sack - the ones where the QB loses the football. You can say that it's because of an improved secondary, and to a certain extent I'll agree - but I also think Arik, Kinlaw and the others of the interior DLine, have gotten better in pushing the pocket, where the QB can't step up and the sacks are causing more fumbles than in 2019. Note that the 49er rushing defense in 2022 is ranked number 2, and in 2019 it was ranked number 17.
